World Series by Renault - Round 4 - Silverstone - Great Britain

Well it has arrived. Who's going ? Who are people's tips for the weekend? Will it chuck it down? Duncan Tappy has got a seat for the rest of the season.

I am just going for the Saturday this year, hopefully it will be abit quieter. Hopefully the weather will hold up, unlike Croft last weekend !

I think Walker will do well like Donington last season. I expect Van der garde to take a win as well (hardly pushing the boat out with my predictions).

Should be a good event as usual !

weather for the weekend has been showing good weather & high tempretures.
Flagged on this event last year at doni, which was a blast.
Flagging again this year, but due to the size of the track,i think the tin tops will get lost on the track.
but really looking forward to this meeting anyway

I'm off to it again this year as well. Should be an awesome event.

Here's the full schedule for the weekend:

Quote:
Thursday 5th June
10:30 - 12:30 - Collective Testing
15:00 - 17:00 - Collective Testing

Friday 6th June
10:20 - 11:05 - Free Practice
14:20 - 15:05 - Free Practice

Saturday 7th June
09:50 - 10:10 - Qualifying (Group B)
10:15 - 10:35 - Qualifying (Group A)
11:25 - 11:40 - Superpole
14:25 - 15:10 - Race 1 (26 laps)

Sunday 8th June
13:15 - 14:00 - Race 2 (26 laps)
As far as the weather is concerned, at the moment the forecast isn't too bad, but remember this is England after all!

I think that van der Garde will keep his good form up as well. P1 really have provided him with an excellent car this year and his consistency has just been mind-blowing. Obviously I think James Walker will do well and even though it's his first race weekend for Ultimate Signature, I think we might see a surprise or two from Esteban Guerrieri.

I'd also like to see Wickens and Carbone get decent runs too after their troublesome start to the year.

I`m sure my finals had more quali/racing sessions than that for the weekend.
or is that only the world series schedule ?

I only managed to catch the Top 8 from the afternoon testing session before the live timing screen changed

Quote:
1. Robert Wickens (Carlin) 1:33.783
2. Fabio Carbone (Ultimate) 1:33.861
3. Bertrand Baguette (Draco) 1:33.867
4. Julien Jousse (Tech 1) 1:34.219
5. James Walker (Fortec) 1:34.249
6. Mikhail Aleshin (Carlin) 1:34.382
7. Alvaro Barba (Prema) 1:34.525
8. Marco Barba (Draco) 1:34.552
van der Garde finished in about 16th place I think. During the session he somehow exited the pits under a red flag, so the stewards punished him by keeping him in his pit garage for 15 minutes.

Hmmm, Saturday only for me this year. Got a **** up on saturday night so won't manage a day out Sunday too!

Carbone could be my tip for one of the races. He went well here back in F3 days and a strong showing could put his title charge on track. Walker's going well by looks of it and i'd like to see Tappy continue to improve throughout the weekend too.

saturday is the better day at the world series events if you like frenault 3.5 - you get qualifying as well as a race. and there's fewer spectators

that weather forecast is interesting though - no wind which i guess is pretty perfect for the cars, but i don't like the look of the rain at 7pm...

They had to delay the third Collective Testing session for some reason, but it's just about to start on live timing in a few moments.

Apart from van der Garde, for me Carbone, Baguette and Alvaro Barba have looked the most consistent drivers over the past few days. A good effort also from both Cortes and Tappy, who seems to be improving with every session.

Wickens was very quick in group qualifying and was fastest of all the drivers, even though he went in the first session, which was generally slower than the other. He is big fave for superpole.

Jousse, Aleshin, Bonanomi and Molina all missed out (as did all the British drivers), but both Ultimate's did make it which is good.

Welcome to tenths Ollie. The link's working fine so it's something at your end, you're missing a component or a setting's not right or something. But sorry, I wouldn't know where to start.

Edit: What a great place for pole.

Duran wins - excellent drive that, particularly with part of his wing flapping about. Good for Martinez too, who I haven't rated that highly before this weekend, so fair play to him.

Not our day today Fernando.

Holy mackerel a good run there from Duran. And Julien Jousse, rewarded with front row tomorrow. Looked like a good race.

Is there a point for tenth?
