Vanilla Dice has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Simonsen to 888

My old mates at Betta have told me that Allan Simonsen has tested with 888 for an endurnace seat earlier this week.

They also told me he went like a jet and will be offered a contract.

To codrive with Craig Lowndes!

Amazing endorsement of his talent I think.

Slim pickings for co-drivers this year. Good to get them locked in early.

This Apple Danish can drive.. that old 550 Ferrari went like a jet with him in it, despite all the performance fiddled they put on it to make it slower.

I believe the deal includes a HPDC seat. That should upset some plans this year.

To be included in the top3 best Brit GT drivers when you've only been driving a Cup class car was a big enough achievement. He should be a very worthy co driver for Lowndes.

How did he go with GRM?

Was he relatively quick? Did he qualify the car?

Can anyone shed any light? Just curious.

Who is paying for the HPDC seat?

13 Allan Simonsen 2:10.1241 ...0:01.8097

Well that was the co-driver practice I dunno.

I would imagine it would be 888.

Great news for Allan. Come Sandwon/ Bahturst thats a pretty solid pairing.

He drove for Perkins last year in the enduros. Was slower than Davison, but the car was never 'right'.

Part of the deal with 888 and Howard is that they supply technical help and parts and the like in return for running in Betta colours..

Go Allan. Love Apples.

Was this the 888 test that Tom Chilton was attending as well? Or does his turn come another time?

And they picked the Great Dane
Smartest thing 888 have done for a while. He will be quicker than Whinchup

I don't know about quicker than Whincup. If Simonsen drives with Lowndes does this mean Whincup and Macrow are paired in the other car or is Macrow out this year.

The Great Dane will be partnered with another impressive import.

Lowndes and Whingecup might have their work cut out for them.

That might make sense of the rumour i heard last year that Macrow will be in a Holden, whether it is in the main series as a co-driver or in the Fujitsu series i don't know. I think he has some connections at Perkins.

Why would it be Chilton? I think they have picked a driver with far more experience than that....

Would of thought Lowndes and Whincup would be paired together if they have any chance of winning the great race.

Simonsen has done well to get one of the cars out of the garage and to the track all by himself - T8 dont have their first test until the 7th of March......

And forgive my ignorance but isnt he the young guy who drove utes last year and his usual fare was to take out half the grid in ambitous overtaking moves? One in particular that stands out was the inside run - all 4 wheels on the grass - in the wet - inside about 6 cars - never EVER going to make the corner and drove straight on and through about 4 cars....he can stay the hell out of Craig's car thanks...

OH NO!! A racer in V8SC!! This cannot be allowed.

He is also the only guy to ever make the Autosport Top 3 best GT drivers by driving a Cup class car in Brit GT.
