2015 European F3 silly season thread

Well, it's here.

Chances are we'll see most of the top 8 move onwards and upwards after this season. Prema may end up fielding Fuoco, Maisano and Stroll. Pedro Piquet would like to move to Europe having dominated the Brazilian F3 season.

Fuoco and Dennis are the only top ten drivers who should stay, and both of them have to be title contenders to keep their reputation.

Not the biggest name, but Beretta already tested with Carlin and Mucke and wants to return next year. Will depend on his budget if he joins a big team.

So rosenqvist is finally leaving the F3 Euroseries? Or is he going for the title next year, like last year, and the year before and the year before and the year before.

Hopefully the series will take the Masters of Formula 3 seriously, and not plan a race the week after. The 2014 Masters wasn't the show it deserves.

Rosenqvist would have moved up at least 2 years ago if he had secured enough money surely?

Why would the FIA care about tradition? Just look at F1!!! The Masters is like British F3 in 2012, credible but fading. Soon it will end up being nothing, like the FF festival, because the FIA ignore everything that they don't run.

According to Wikipedia, Stroll has been confirmed at Prema. Wikipedia cite a Ferrari website video.

No surprise as his father owns a large chunk of Prema

Does that mean Maisano will be riding shotgun for him?

Do you have any source of this? Is his father already shareholder at Prema Power?

Does anyone know if we might see Motopark Academy in the series next year? They apparently ordered two brand new Dallara's to race at Imola and Hockenheim recently, but failed to show for either round. They have got an entry for Macau in a few weeks though.

My guess is that Motopark will run in 2015. Otherwise that would be a huge waste of money. They have a good talent in Pommer as well in German F3, and he looks ready to step into Euro F3, and Jeffri may join him. But who knows what happens? I certainly don't!

Formula Masters China runner-up Matthew Solomon impressed Double R in a test at Silverstone. Same with 11th ranked FR Eurocup Matt Parry for another team I forget (Fortec???) earlier in October.

Heard on the grapevine: 2014 Formula Masters China Series Champion James Munro to test with Van Amersfoort Racing in November and December.

If Munro and Solomon get their respective seats for 2015, then it will be a huge boost to FMCS with both the first and second placed drivers heading to FIA European F3 and the third placed driver (Dan Wells) heading to All-Japan F3.

Martin Cao will probably land a seat with Fortec as well. He has the result, relationship, and money to make it happen.

I wouldn't rate any of them to be next Verstappen or whatever, but they have the pace to fight in the midfield and perhaps venture into the top 10. Munro however has some potential to become a Blomqvist-type frontrunner, only thing he needs right now is the finances. KCMG is giving him a 100,000 Euros scholarship to do All-Japan F3 with them or a 50,000 Euros scholarship for another series. Does he pursue his dream of F1 or go the safe route and use KCMG's links with TOM'S to pursue a steady career as a Toyota factory driver? He may well become the next James Rossiter.

Going to Japan is not going to kill any shot at F1 if he plays his cards right. If there is a real link with TOM's he'd be crazy to not go that route.

Not quite European F3 news, but the proposed Middle East F3 cup has been canned for next year:

As expected, Jake Dennis moves from Carlin to Prema for 2015:

That's a title push for Mr Dennis. Should be another good season, although I doubt 2014 will be matched for a long, long time.

A little update on the two FMCS graduates.

Solomon's Double R race seat is essentially a done deal.

Munro will not only test with VAR but also Motopark. Testing to be held in Spain.

Daimler Asia and VW Group China money behind the two. Should be interesting.

Dutchie Indy Dontje would like to get into FIA F3 after a good season in German F3 with Motopark.. Maybe he will join Motopark in FIA F3, or VAR.. Time will tell..

I can't understand why it takes so long before the FIA F3/DTM calendar is presented...
