Tony Ricciardello

As reported in AA, Sports Sedan ace Tony Ricciardello has scored himself a definate starting position for this weekend's Barbagello round, after Dugal McDougall has pulled out. He will be racing Mike Imrie's VT, he is a bloody fast driver, and knows the track better than anyone. Good luck to him

Ray Bell should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Youthful enthusiasm, plenty of sand traps... he'll need a lot of skill, common sense and luck to do any good. Hope he does, though.

Hmmm, well his Alfa would probably have 100hp more than the V8, so really it shouldn't be a big problem for him. He is 22 years old, and to win a couple of National Championships, he must be doing something right

This is altogether true, as is the fact that he's driven the cars before, but it's a different environment.

In the Sports Sedans he has mastered the car and the competition. This is a whole new world, with new pressures and promises. I hope he does well, he's a nice kid and I like his old man, they've been nice to me.

Crash Test, do you know if he will still be driving the Alfa in the sports sedan races?
or if anyone else will be?

I think this will be a one off deal for him. At the moment he is leading the National Sports Sedans by 19 points from Stephen Voigt. I think the only problem might be the car...it probably isn't the fastest one out there. But Ray, you're right, the Ricciardello's are top folks.

Great news!

One question though - why did Dugal pull out??

Larry is still fixing and bringing his car up to spec after his Canberra shunt.
