BTCC The Annual 201 Predictions Thread

Apologies to all our non-BTCC friends for swamping the forum with all these threads

You know the drill, 5 predictions just as we did last year http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146694

Last year these were mine:

1) A Subaru Levorg won't complete any of the three races at Brands Hatch
2) Team HARD. will change one of their drivers at least once this season
3) Rob Austin will get a few podiums for Handy
4) Kelvin Fletcher will miss a round for filming commitments
5) MG will surprise a few people with their pace

So here are this year's:

1) Team HARD will win a race
2) We'll only have two new race winners
3) At least one manufacturer team will change at least one driver during the season
4) The Team HARD CCs will be referred to as 'Passat CCs' by at least one driver/commentator/interviewee at each round
5) Dave Newsham will find himself on the podium at Knockhill

Edit: In my excitable haste I appear to have missed out the 7 from the year. The 201 BTCC season was a good one so I've heard though.

Thanks for this! For a moment I thought we had to make 201 predictions!

1) Andrew Jordan will be outscored by both Turks & Collard but there will at least one BMW 1-2-3
2) A car rolls at Knockhill
3) The season will end with the same 32 drivers that started the season
4) There will be more winners than last year, one of which will include Aiden Moffat
5) Honda will be beaten by both BMW & Subaru in the manufacturer standings

Biscuits In A Red Bull should be qualifying in the top 10 on the gridBiscuits In A Red Bull should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1 - Colin Turkington clinches the championship in a last round nail-biter
2 - Thus deposing Jason Plato of a championship lead he held since Silverstone, amassing the most race wins over the season
3 - Ashley Sutton wins 3 races but only comes 7th in the standings
4 - Vauxhall only claim 2 podiums all season, both through Chilton, as Proctor doesn't score a single top 6, and converts reverse grid pole into the turn 3 gravel trap (circuit unspecified)
5 - As per last year; no rain all season, before Silverstone and Brands Hatch GP are drenched

MissClarrpz should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1. A qualifying session will have the top 2 with the same time
2. Subaru will win all 3 races in a weekend followed by calls for them to get ballast/BoP adjusted and they lose performance after that
3. Plato will miss out on the championship because he scores less bonus points than the champion
4. Only 1 race all season will have 32 cars starting from the grid
5. Someone who crashes out on Lap 1 of Race 1 will crash out at the same spot in Race 30 (lap unspecified)

1. Honda will not have a 1-2 in qualifying all season, but will in 3 races.
2. Subaru will have a 1-2 in qualifying, but not in any race.
3. Taylor-Smith will allow Turkington passed in a race due to 'car issues', which will be sorted by the time Plato catches him up.
4. Three different drivers will complain about other team's working together, but criticise their own teammates for not doing so.
5. RWD cars will have their minimum weight raised before the season ends.

1. One (or more!) meeting will see a session or race experiment with the use of Code 60 rather than a safety car.
2. Turkington will be champion.
3. Neal and Plato will retire at season's end.
4. One of the "rookies" will win 2 races at one meeting.
5. Someone will end up in the right-hand barrier on the exit of Robert's at the end of lap 1 of race 1 at Donington.

1. Exactly five events will include wet races.
2. Ant Whorton-Eales will score at least twice as many points as Ollie Jackson.
3. No driver will win more than four races.
4. Tom Chilton will finish outside of the top 10 in the final standings by a margin of at least 20 points.
5. The highest placed independent in the overall drivers' championship will finish 7th.

Ok here we go:-

1) The championship will be decided in the penultimate race
2) Either Team Dymanics or BMR will be upset about turbo boost
3) Someone from TD will moan about the advantage of the RWD car's
4) Tom Chilton will win a race before Croft
5) At least one race will be red flagged

thlbtcc should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1. Ash Sutton will match or even exceed Plato's pure pace in the second half of the season, but act as rear-gunner.
2. Jordan will qualify better than Collard across the season and score 3 wins.
3. Croft will see a top-6 RWD lockout race result during the Sunday.
4. Shedden and Neal will be in title contention and take the fight to BMW.
5. This season's complaint will be about the speed of the TOCA engine.

1) Turkington wins the title.
2) 3 drivers mathematically in with a chance of winning going into the final race of the season.
3) Rob Austin will win at least once
4) Subaru teammates will collide during a race at some point.
5) One driver will do a clean sweep and win all 3 races during a race weekend.

Jiiiiiiim should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1. Both BTC Norlin drivers will score more points than the 2nd PMR car (Proctor) using their old Chevy's.
2. Chris Smiley will be the most 'improved' driver.
3. Sutton will upset Plato by being too quick for his liking.
4. Mat Jackson will be the only Motorbase driver to get a podium & finish in the championship top ten.
5. There will be a record number of podium finishers this year, but not a record number of winners.

BLiTZ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1) There'll be at least one news article halfway the the year from a team saying they'll have to switch to RWD next season.
2) BTC Norlin will only complete one season then go bankrupt and sell off everything (like UA).
3) Vauxhall will perform better/worse than expected for the first half of the season, and visa versa after the summer break.
4) At least one driver will sustain catastrophic damage to their car and will barely make it back for the next round. (Will likely start a go fund me page).
5) The Parker Focus' will be nowhere near as quick as the fastest Motorbase entry but will score equal/higher than the slowest one.
6) Moffat will get into an unnecessary scrap with a championship contender causing them to loose points.
6) Moffat will get into an unnecessary scrap with stablemate Morgan.
7) Shedden will be full of compliments for the 'Cracking little Civic' when he does well and moody as chuff when he doesn't.
8) At some point during the Donington weekend, ITV will mention Matt Neal being the first independent driver to win a BTCC race and winning £250k.

slummingangel should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1) Plato will be involved in an incident with another driver, which will hamper their weekend and put them out of the running come the final race meeting
2) There will be more non-Championship winners in the Final Top 5 than Championship winners
3) One Rookie will surprise most with a win and some podium finishes
4) Aforementioned Rookie's win will not be because of reverse grid
5) there wil be one podium with no English drivers on it i.e. Taylor-smith, Shedden, Turkington.
6) Presenters will struggle with Taylor-Smith's new name and will revert to calling him just Aron

3) Yup. Cometh the hour leaveth the Dan Lloyd enter(eth) the Josh Cook.
4) Didn't keep track, but I will assume that happened.

Did Price and Cole not have a coming together at Croft? I know it probably wasn't the two teammates you meant when you posted that, but I'm sure you could claim it anyway!
