This looks like the revised timetable, with Euroseries 3000 out of the way. It's still good.

http://www.v12racing.com/index.php/e...league-formula Big news - Sevilla FC return to the series from this weekend, replacing Al Ain FC - who drop out of the championship despite lying 2nd after Zolder.

Sevilla will be run by the same team (Ultimate) with the same driver (Esteban Guerrieri) as Al Ain.

The same website, V12 Racing, has an unofficial SF magazine available to view for free (http://www.v12racing.com/index.php/en/magazines)

Despite being unofficial, Superleague Formula are actually advertising it on their official Twitter page, so they are embracing it rather than trying to close it down due to copyright, as surely many other series would try to do.

Judging by the work going on yesterday around the circuit it's going to be very well 'dressed' for this event.

I'm no football fan but the prospects of the eclectic mix of races and the noise of the V12s certainly appeals.

Current forecast seems to be suggesting wet for tomorrow but drier on Sunday. That could make it interesting.

Hopefully Scott Mansell's Donington knowledge (though none on the full circuit apparently) will help him to get into the groove quickly on Saturday morning for the Galatasary team. He a fast, smooth driver and a really nice guy and deserves a break.

If we only count the racing drivers, there's the one who was WDC just once (he seriously thinks it should have been six or seven times), his son Greg, who looks and sounds like him, but has been known to beat up his team mate (allegedly) and is currently racing in the WSR with Ultimate Motorsport, and the other son, Leo, who seems a nice lad, but not especially talented and is currently spending his time in GTs and sports cars.

Then there's Scott Mansell, who is no relation, but had some success at glorified club level in big single-seaters a few years ago. I'm sure he's a really nice bloke, but in my opinion is not a top level driver. This weekend may prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

Ultimate. And yes, it will be interesting to see how Scott goes this weekend, but I don't really see the logic in replacing Duncan Tappy with him.

I think he still holds the outright lap record on the National Circuit at Donington - or has that been bettered now? Also he lives about 20 miles away ...

In the dry last year the SF cars were, I am told, doing about 1:19s. On Thursday Mansell S was doing 1:18s in a Benetton Judd. In the comparison one has to factor in tyres and stuff and that the SF cars are heavier but have (or should have) a little more power. So in theory they are around about the same level of performance.

That said who knows what to make of today? First time in the car, extrememly varable weather conditions within the sessions, no more that an installation lap in the first practice session which suggests all might not have been well with the car, but I'm speculating. A couple of other cars had problems - engine for one and gearbox for the other.

A photo of the Galatasary car on the web site seems to have the rear wing only half signwritten and at one point there was a message on the live timing about the car needing numbers on both sides which seemed a little odd. It all sounds like things may have been a bit fraught. But I'm still speculating.

Just have to see what happens tomorrow. Last time I looked The Weather Channel was predictinig cloudy but zero chance of rain. Yeah, right. Should mix things up given the way things were today.

BTW the aforementioned Mr. Tappy was also at Donington on Thursday running the Caparo derived racer for which he has recently been a appointed as the development driver. A one make series is planned for 2010.

Actually,the EuroBOSS series,really historic racing,contested mainly by 'gentleman' drivers+ a couple of ladies.Scott seems to have been inactive for some years-I don't understand how he has found his way in here either-there are many young drivers with a better record?

Not sure how you managed to post those times, lauren, except by using Print Screen, but well done anyway.

Sorry to see that after dominating practice Esteban Guerrieri ends up on row 5, but at least Antonio Pizzonia is on pole, I think.

yep, guerrieri is looking like he could be the find of the season. valles hasn't been on the pace nearly all of the weekend. he'll start r1 from 10th which is not good news for liverpool's championship lead as craig dolby is 6th.

yikes!! bruce jouanny seems to be in portimao. hopefully he'll manage to make it to donington in time for the first race. if he doesn't they need to replace him with someone good.
