Really? Oh well, I'm not likely to bump into the result any earlier anyway.

Found the channel...(Tour de France on all day so far, I believe that's the right one), 7:30am though sadly for me.

What actually is happening? Sorry my German is not up to much.Live coverage started at 7.30 here (8.30CET)So far we have seen mostly Ellen Lohr talking to presenter.Race started, and was imediately red flagged due to shunt.Coverage stopped at 9.10CET.Will race restart and will there be any coverage? Motors TV normally also covers DTM (in English) but I can't see anything listed.

That link comes up as 'page unavailable' but full results can be found on the DTM site link.

Paffett scores start-finish victory at Shanghai
Gary Paffett was the beaming winner of the DTM’s exhibition race in China. The Briton pulled off a magnificent start-finish triumph in his AMG-Mercedes C-Class on the 2.84 kilometre-long street circuit in Shanghai for an advantage of 0.887 seconds over his team mate Bernd Schneider.

Don't know. It's every year the same song with Opel. Their car hasn't the speed of the Audi and Mercedes so there's hope NEXT year the car is more competative.

That was 'race two' according to the caption. What happened to race one? did that one not happen?

From dtm.de:

A manhole cover came unstuck in the start phase of the first of the originally planned two races of 30 minutes each. Bernd Mayländer in an AMG-Mercedes CLK was unable to steer clear of a collision and rammed into the obstacle. As a result, the race was interrupted and the manhole covers were welded firm for safety reasons. The first race was therefore cancelled due to time constraints.

Can't say that was a fantastic start then for the race's in China.

Here's hoping Schuey loses his undertray to a manhole cover [Though by China, he will be the champion anyway].

Well done Gary, sounds like he vs Bernd should be good to see.

Looks like some drivers may have tried harder than others (i.e. Capello trying hard...Albers maybe not so?) - the lack of fear over championship points can always make a race interesting in other ways.

Expecting F1 bosses to be interested to see what happened at the first Chinese race - can't have done Paffett any harm by winning it.
