My interest in talking about the Z4 is low but they pay the price with a car that isn't so good to race Le Mans, Daytona, or any track with long a straightaway. It wouldn't really be any different. What to do now?

It's not a matter of if it competes, it's a matter that people ASSUME it does... The market is a small place. People still tend to be quite brand loyal. It also sets up an amazing storyline race to race. You have the three big US manu's taking on three big foreign ones... The drama writes itself if they do it properly. |

What a great-looking Mustang race car. However, I feel that if Ford goes with this, I think it will compare, contrast, and compete with other "curved brick" race cars... and I'm talking about the Nissan GT-R and the Bentley Continental GT.

well Z4 too isn't a proper GT car, anyway I would like to see more a new ford GT than a mustang.

How does the new Mustang compare to the Aston Martin Vantage in terms of size?

New Mustang has a much longer wheelbase and is a 2+2 instead of a two seater.

All modern cars are heavy giants. It doesn't matter.

I want to see a modern Ford Cobra. It would be sorta like the V8 powered BMW Z4 GTE car, but unlike the Beemer, the roadgoing version would be AWESOME! Plus the return of the "Cobra Racing Team" would be cool.

More rumors of a Ford GT(E) return to Le Mans 50 years after the 1966 victory.

A successor of the Ford GT.
That would be the bomb. If true I hope IMSA keeps it together untill then, imagine Ford, Chevy, and Dodge fighting it out in the GTLM! |

I wouldn't be surprised to find this is about a hot version of the new Mustang being used as a base, rather than a new mid engined GT

It's not a Mustang - there was a plan for that, rejected by Ford board. It IS a new Ford GT - And it is much, much more than a rumour

I hope the Ford GT materializes just in time for 2016 if TUSC survives that is.
If not, they could revive either the Cobra roadster/coupe or the Thunderbird. |

It looks pretty good trackside. Walking through the vendor area there are displays by BMW, Chevy, Dodge, Mazda, and Nissan. Ford needs a presence here, and I think they realize it.

You presume that they haven't already done so!
