The top 3

Whilst it appears that 888 racing and Jamie Whincup are in a league of their own in 2011, there will always be V8 Supercar fans who believe that Whincup is on top because he has the best of everything under and around him.
Both this year and in previous years there has without doubt been talented drivers who may or may not have had the equipment to do their results justice.
Drivers have been underrated, overrated, hopeless or excelled in the wet, choked under pressure, not had the equipment or just been unlucky.
So as it appears that the cars are more evenly matched post Group C, who are your top 3 drivers post Group C.

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
really Alan Grice Post group C? I can understand in Group C, but not Post

Reckon murph shows him a clean pair of heels and murph wouldnt make it close to my top 5

Anyway Skaife, by far has to make it. He would be the only definite as he has been winning races for almost all of the post group C era.

I put lowndes in multiple championship winner and multiple bathurst winner over a big chunk of that period.

third is hard. Seton Johnson Jim Richards Whincup Ambrose Bowe, its hard to choose

Difficult enough to just pick 3 never mind in order, so Skaife, Ambrose and Lowndes for me.

I think you could put together a top 10 list with no arguments. However the second you try to put them in order the fights will start.

With 3 Bathursts and soon to be 3 championships, I would think Whincup would be deserving of a top 5 spot...

My top 3 in no particular order.

Jim Richards
Mark Skaife
Marcos Ambrose

Remember both his Bathurst wins came in Group A, the early days of Group A suited his driving style.

nah i understand that, but Rick Kelly has two bathurst wins also, plus a championship, Cant see him making anyones top 3 and on paper has a significantly better record than Grice

Look at the way Kelly won those races and championships compared to Grice and then you have your answer

not going to argue that point, thats why i used the term "on paper"

i just cant eben go close to including him post group C, he just didnt race enough and he didnt really get the results either

heck tony longhurst has two bathurst wins in that time frame and and super touring championship, but i dont get him into my top ten

still its about peoples opinions, and thats there choice

LMAO Pecky the more i read the more it looks as if you are the v8PR machine!!!!!! Grice had HALF the championship starts of Rick Kelly but won as many races as RK has now PLUS Kelly was in factory supported car most of his career but Grice wasnt. If you count Grice's Bathurst wins he has more race and round wins than Kelly in HALF the starts!!!! OH Aand Kellys championship was won WITHOUT WINNING ANYTHING!

like i said, i didnt fit Rick into my top ten, but he has a better strike rate at Bathurst than Grice and has never driven for the factory team like Grice did

You don't think K-Mart and HSV weren't factory??!!!! Kidding right??? Aside from a few years Grice was pure privateer and his championship racing record is far better than Kellys

has Grice won a championship? what about this, how many top 5's has he had in the post group C era?

and no, they were owned by ricks parents, yes they had factory support, but they were not the "A" team like when Grice was with HRT

IIRC correctly I don't think Grice ever made an ATCC championship start with HRT. His only starts were in the enduros and possibly the AGP support races so your looking at 6-10 starts in a factory car maximum. At the time HRT really weren't that great.

So you're not really comparing apples with apples
