2015 Season Review
So with the 15th year of the second millennium dusted in terms of most motorsport. What has been the person high, low, weird and in betweens of this season? (Talking mostly V8 Supercars but anything Australasian is applicable)
Best race: Bathurst. Especially when the skies opened and rained sweet H2O on the track. Best driver: Winterbottom. Even though I bleed red, got to take my hat off to him. Best moment: Meeting Marcos Ambrose at the Gold Coast 600. That and catching up with the second family that is Brad Jones Racing. Worst race: None come to memory for now. Worst driver: Steve Owen. While he was decent in the enduro's with Winterbottom, his performance as a back up driver in single driver events cements that he needs to stick to endurance driving. Worst moment: Winterbottom/Owen's unsafe release at the Gold Coast 600. Stupid and dangerous, lucky people didn't get hurt. Weirdest moment: Craig Lowndes' tyre failure in NZ. Scary stuff. Tied to that and trying to ask if David Reynolds is related to Ryan Reynolds and explain his "Deadpool" character. |

Best race: Difficult to remember and will probably think of something else after posting, but the Sunday race at Clipsal was enjoyable.
Best driver: Frosty. Best moment: Seeing the genuine excitement and sense of achievement on Jnr Perkins face after winning on the GC. Worst race: Too many to name. Worst driver: David Wall. Worst moment: The Mostert and Aussie racing car crashes at Bathurst. Weirdest moment: When it was announced that Reynolds had lost his PRA drive. |

Best race: Bathurst. Yet again.
Best driver: Frosty. I thought he was getting the staggers towards the end, but he held on and deserves that number 1. Best moment: Chris Pither announcing his drive for 2016. I've known him a long time and the kid deserves it, a great young bloke who has never changed. Worst race: Most Saturday races. Every F4 race. Worst driver: A couple of blokes in the Ute series shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel for the next ten years. Worst moment: The bulltish uproar over Reynolds comments. Weirdest moment: Anytime the boffins announce the success of the TV deal. |

Best race: Race 3 Barbargello. Will Davison & Erebus winning outright.
Best driver: Chaz Mostert. Best moment: Todd losing it at the paperclip, and the telecast continuing in it's entirety. Worst race: Homebush - terrible track. I've seen footpaths wider than that. Worst driver: David Wall. Worst moment: Craig Lowndes tyre failure in NZ, fractionally ahead of Chaz's Bathurst crash. Weirdest moment: Not a moment as such, but PRA's decision to enter 5 cars at Bathurst knowing full well they had no backup chassis if anything happened, such as what happened to 3 of the 5 cars. Forced them to use a patched up older generation chassis for the rest of the season. Ultimately this decision lost them the Teams' Championship. |

Best race: Bathurst. Bonus points for the little red button that made it ad free, and no more Tom Williams.
Best driver: Frosty. I think I would be typing Chaz in here if he didn't make that mistake, possibly would be wearing the #1 in 2016 had things not gone pearshaped that day. Best moment: Watching Ambrose put #17 into the Clipsal Top 10 shootout. Worst driver: David Wall. Will become very apparent when 2 Volvos are fighting for podiums in 2016. Worst moment: Giz punting Reynolds off, putting Dave out of contention. Dog act. Weirdest moment: Watching Chaz become Ingall ( Back to the Future promo ) Worst commentator: Rhiana. Makes you wonder how some people get these gigs. |
