Another FCY during pit sequences alters the outcome. Such is racing.

Just starting to watch this. Did the guy interviewing Daly say that he got a sexual caution for his spin??? Note that they went straight to commercial then didn't mention it afterwards

Congrats to Will Power. A good solid drive, good strategy and a great pass on Pagenaud. Just what he needed to put his championship hopes back on course.

Wow. Long time since Will was in victory lane. Congrats. Decent enough race.

I really like the BT Sport coverage. Uninterrupted feed from ABC and recap commentary from BT Sport when ABC would normally cut to their commercial break. I hope it's like this the rest of the season.

Great to see bad luck Will finally have things go his way. Hard to believe it's been a year since he's won. I think it might be too late for him to make a run at the championship this year though.

It's been two years since Castroneves last won; 2014 at Detroit, Race 2.

PC, I think it's going to be very difficult to make an open-wheel car that looks "fierce". With the rules as they are for foot and leg protection, it seems like you either end up with those very long noses, like F1, or wide ones, like in IndyCar.
You're just not allowed to proportion and position the elements of the car like you were for, say, a 1982 Renault RE30B. |

I don't assume that those Lolas and Reynards would meet the current footbox requirements.
Also, the "fierce" look I'm thinking of started disappearing, even in CART, after 2001. Last edited by Purist; 5 Jun 2016 at 23:57. |

I wonder what he thinks after seeing the replay? Looked to me like Kimball squeezed Munoz into Hinch, although I suppose you could argue Munoz should maybe not have had his nose in there in the first place. No wonder Hinch was steamed though. Foolishness before the first corner and he's out of the race.

Also - the ABC commentary was possibly even worse in race 2 than in race 1. It's like the guys in the box don't even understand the sport at all. And of course, key incidents missed during the commercial breaks (here in Canada, ABC does *not* go side-by-side during commercials).
I do also like how the horsepower changed over the weekend. In race 1 they referred to the cars as having over 700 horsepower, then later it was 600. By race 2 they'd settled on 550. I wonder what that number will be in Texas? |

Not sure what to say about Eddie Cheever and Scott Goodyear not knowing the sport... Allen Bestwick has been calling motor races since the middle 80s, albeit mostly NASCAR and is normally quite good. Don't take NASCAR jabs as a good play-by-play man, which Allen is, generally makes a decent transition. There's just too many voices in the booth trying to make points and not covering the race. |

At one point, either cheever or Goodyear was stunned and concerned and asked "what is be doing?!" What were they so confused about? A driver swerving a little on a straight after leaving the pits on new tires....... I mean............... At least the other driver explained it and said something to the effect of "you were a driver, I'm sure you've done it too". I am just at a loss of words for how bad the abc broadcasts are.
