Riba too broken for Le Mans
Riba doesn't look good for Le Mans... "boarding call for Antony West"....."Anthony Weat to gate 500"
*fingers crossed* ------ Doctor Villamor said of Riba´s injury; ´Pere, as a result of his crash at Suzuka, has broken his right humerous head, and damaged the tendons in the area. Because of this, he can not hold the bike during braking, and he can’t ride one hundred percent. This morning we carried out one treatment in order to get the tendon in better conditions for the French GP, and next week we he will have another examination to decide if he can or can´t ride in Le Mans´. motogp.com |

If Riba doesn't race, I hope Ant gets a call. He should be riding anyway but due to lack of finance/sponsors/not being Spanish!.....

It is official. Riba has pulled out of France but as yet no replacement has been announced.

is that speculation or fact gomick?
Cardoso did a pretty ordinary job last year. Aparently he is working on the MV project with Ralf Waldman, and getting to rife it later in in teh year |

If Cardoso gets the ride, that's a BIG BS decision by the team, but obviously they do need a Spaniard to ride to keep the sponsors happy.
But Ant is still left on the sidelines, which is an injustice!!

And the winner is...
(stolen from motogp) José Luis Cardoso found out at the last minute that he would be substituting Pere Riba in the Polini Grand Prix de France. Cardoso, who is lined up to ride for MuZ later this year, had travelled to Le Mans on Tuesday but had no idea that he would end up covering for his fellow Spaniard in the Antena 3 Yamaha D'AntÃ*n squad. ´Firstly I have to say that it is a shame I have got this opportunity through injury to another rider,´ said Cardoso, who returns to the team he rode for last season. `However, I appreciate the confidence the team have shown in me and I want to make the most of it. I think I have a place in this competition and I would like to demonstrate that although I know that I cannot achieve great things in one weekend´. ´It is months since I have ridden at a circuit, and the last time I rode the YZR500 was at the final race of 2001 in Brazil. So I know I have to take things steadily and try and get some sort of rhythm. Up until just a few hours ago I didn´t know I would be riding here – everything has happened very quickly´. |
