But the HPD may struggle to pass traffic, but will get faster as the race (or race weekend) progresses due to more rubber being put down in the corners - it strength.

thanks for the comparisons, maybe that shows a fair job done by IMSA equalizing P1 and P2.

Well not really. If they were equalized properly Long beach would be a P2 track and Petit would be a P1 track. Them more-or-less being at opposite ends os the ALMS tack spectrum. If a P2 can't thrash the AM P1 here then it never will.

It's probably decision time for AM to consider doing a whole season, if they did they'd win every race (baring DNF of course)

The comparison more likely shows how poor the AM chassis is in the bends comparied to the ARX-02a. After all it's a Lola, the same as the Dyson and you can see how the ARX-01 destroys Dyson in the bends (remember Dyson has a lot more power than the HPD).

Although if Highcroft had fitted the true ARX-01c spec body they may have been sitting way out in front (at least at the start, maybe not by turn 1 lap 1)

Well, it indeed should be a P2 track. But don't forget the Aston has a hard time around the corner cause it is 75 kilo's more heavy. I don't believe the Lola-chassis is that shabby.

Don't get me wrong the AM did a superb job, it was well faster that the Drayson car but its taking 175-200hp more than than P2 to push this 75kg around as fast as the P2 car.

Yeh, he things the penalty was undeserved, he then said rubbing is racing, a little rub mabe but putting another car in the wall no.

Have to say that was a pretty low-percentage move from Brabs, he popped out pretty late and was in the Aston's blind spot until it was too late to avert a collision. He never got fully alongside and he should also have considered the more limited vision in the coupe he was trying to pass. Seemed kind of desperate.

It didn't look too bad seeing it live but in the replays it definitely looked lke Brabs pushed it and Primat didn't want/feel he had to concede the position. An avoidable incident and probably a track specific stop-go, may have been allowed at road courses but with the walls so close it makes any contact potentially dangerous for them and the other drivers when pieces fall off/oil gets put down.
