Gerard should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Two races to go.
Two contenders for the title.
If Michael wins at Suzuka, he's the champ.
If Mika wins, it's not over yet.
Your predictions for Japan please.

These are mine, just to make it thrilling.

1. Mika Hakkinen
2. David Coulthard
3. Michael Schumacher
4. Rubens Barrichello
5. Heinz-Harald Frentzen
6. Jacques Villeneuve

1. Hakkinen
2. TGF
3. Rubens
4. Frentzen
5. Villenueve
6. Irvine
DC out with engine problems

Hakkinen has always done well at Suzuka and now that his back is against the wall, we'll see him driving at 110%. TGF will probably give him a good run, but I don't think it will be enough. Frentzen and Villenueve will probably fight it out for "best of the rest" and Irvine always does well at Suzuka and the Jags were competitive at Indy, so maybe some luck will turn their way.

I have to agree with hakkinen as the winner, but you never know in F1.

Here is my guess:
1.Hakkinen
2.Coulthard
3.M. Schumacher
4.R. Schumacher
5.R. Barichello
6.J. Villeneuve

And then there is always attrition, so who knows.

jarama should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1st.) MH, always fast at Suzuka, and in need of victory.
2nd.) Jacques, the BAR is improving, he's TGF friend.
3rd.) TGF, never at home at Suzuka.
4th.) RB -or DC?-
5th.) DC -or RB?-
6th.) PdlR, former F-Nippon and Nippon-GT Champion.

1.. Hakkinen
2.. Coulthard
3.. Schumacher
4.. Frentzen
5.. Button
6.. Schumacher Jnr or Trulli

Is reliablty going to be factor lets hope not after the US
the Mc Larens must be a bit worried.
Jordan seem to be getting it together again Fingers crossed they should go well.
But you cant rule out the Williams.
I think were going to see some battles between TGF and DC again.

In Suzuka Ferrari and Michael will celebrate!!! Im not sure who will win, but I have a strange feeling that Michaels time has come once again. He may not win, but he will gain at least 2 points on Mika in Japan and will be crowned the 2000 WDC.

A McLaren will probably win (isn't it odd how the races have gone to the wire every year since Bernie Took Over, when it only happened twice in 15 yeras beefore that?) but not necessarily Mika. TGF may come third as he tends to get a bit nervous at Suzuka and he knows he only has to finish second to keep his championship hopes alive ... and sometimes that makes a person lose a whisker of concentration. Zonta will be trying to end the tour of duty with BAR with a higher finish than he has made so far, and if Trulli is not harpooned by Button Spice, I really think the Jordans will be the thing next year. But I thought they'd do it this year too ...

1. DC or MH
2. Ditto
3. TGF
4. Frenzy
5. Zonta
6. Trulli or Verstappen

Rubens will be out of the points unless TGF crashes out; nobody will give him any attention at this point. Jacques will crash because he's trying too hard, but he'll run a brilliant race.

Ow EERO, my big toe is doing that thing too ...

Not that DC is gonna be anywhere near Mika in the race, but theoretically don't you think, Liz, that DC will get a little hunch on the radio when he's in front of Mika to let him by?

For show-down in Malaysia!
Both will have to win there!
Yummie

1. Mika
2. DC
3. TGF
4. Trulli
5. Zonta
6. Alesi

Yeah, well, Dino, obviously your big toe and mine have not been speaking:

1) Ralf-its time
2) DC
3) Barrichello
4) Villeneuve
5) Button
6) Salo

Pole -Hakkinen, first lap crash takes out TGF and the Flying Finn.

Eero, you're prediction is a nice idea, at least it would give Ralf a win (after coming so agonisingly close twice) and Michael will still be leading by eight points in the final round. I'm not going to make a prdiction because I seem to have a Murray Walker type curse and taht would not be fair on the guys I'm supporting. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hope to be smiling on Sunday morning!

1. Mika Hakkinen
2. David Coulthard (will drive a brilliant race, but team orders will keep him behind Mika)
3. Jacques Villeneuve (a superb effort keeps him ahead of TGF and gives BAR their first podium)
4. TGF
5. Rubens
6. Ralf

This will mean that TGF goes into the last race with a one point advantage... and takes the title. Can anyone guess how?

Something weird is going to happen to this race, I reckon.

Whatever the effect of the championship, I don't know, but I think EERO's closer to the money.

It's going to be one of the nearly-teams. Williams, Jordan or Benetton.

Remember Nannini at Japan all those years ago?

It's one part nostalgia, one part wishful thinking, one part remembering what a title chase can do to the front runners' judgement, but I'm going to call Fisichella for a maiden win.

And now see just how wrong I am....!

Watching the boys in the flesh at Indy has altered my perception...... I would have bet my mortgage that Monza & Indy were McLaren "tracks".... yet Michael was on the pole both times and had the field covered in race trim for dry and intermediate wet settings. And... with rain in the forecast for Sat & Sun........

Pole.... Michael

1st: Rubens
2nd: Michael
3rd: Jacques
4th: DC
5th: Jarno
6th: Ralfie

my "reasoning"... McLaren has not been the same since they had to modify their differential(?) after Spa.... throw in some recent reliability bugaboos , the chance of additional "problems" because Mclaren must stretch the envelope, and the possibility of heavy rain... Mika will be a DNF through no fault of his own. Michael will then folow the script set forth previously by both Nelson Piquet ( for Patrtese) and Ayrton ( for Gerhard)when they were in position to clinch a WDC late in the race..... show his appreciation to his team mate with a "gift".

Of course, I have never been one to predict anything correctly..... and the less said about my powers of claear rational "thought" IE.."reasoning"... the better.

take care all

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
I dreamt lst night that Jacques won at Suzuka with the new Honda engine. When I woke up, my first reaction was "what a wierd dream". I suppose I will have to stick with that, because I dreamt Rogan Josh won the Melbourne Cup last year, and I backed that dream too. So, Jacques, take my tip and win the race.

Wouldn't I like to think Ferrari would allow Rubens to win that race. Not unless TGF is crashed out by the roadside.

In an interview after the USGP Bernie declared that he had "visions" of Mika finishing second to tighten up the race and it was too bad that no one had foreseen his engine blowing up ... and that he now "visions" Mika winning in a McLaren 1-2 at Suzuka and TGF winning the WDC in Malaysia.

Can anyone guess which way to bet?

I'm going to have to agree with TimD + EERO

It is going to be someone we usually don't see up on top.

My prediction:
1. Rubens - TGF will crash at start (deja-vu)
2. HHF - Jordan have finally got rid of that curse of bad luck that has been plagueing them (fingers crossed)
3. Jacques - I have a feeling his new engine will work

Mika will have engine problems and DC will struggle and come fifth
