Chassis Tuning via Wheel Offset

Hi: I race a vintage Formula Ford, have been racing for about 10 years, and am usually fairly competitive in a very competitive group (many don't believe this happens in Vintage, but...). Since most of the road courses we race on tend to be either predominantly right or predominantly left-hand turns (e.g., 9 rights, 3 lefts), I've been experimenting with using different wheel offsets on the left and right sides of the car, off-setting the CG approximately 1". In theory, this would reduce roll and reduce the weight transfer to the outer wheels. Depending on the track, I would say there is some potential here. Any opinions??

There is a very interesting article on this in the Dec/Jan Racetech magazine. The article is quite in-depth and is very good.

Its used quite a bit in both the CART and IRL series when on ovals. Even karters use it (I think).

THR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
can use it front to rear to help the balance too im told.
think there might have been a topic on this in the past on the board... have a search.

Check with the kart racers, this is one of their biggest adjustments on racing karts.

The local magazine chains tell me that Dec/Jan Racetech won't be in stock until mid-February (???). Curious as to what information the article presents.
