Robbies sportscar debut

Not too shabby so far

quickest in every session, pole in first quali by 1.7 secs.

The Audis might have a bit more left, but I doubt they have 1.7 secs.

I'm going to enjoy tomorrow.

Audi's had no answer to that lap by Robbie - interesting to see that Robbie's 2nd lap would've been faster had it not been for traffic. Amazing for his debut in a sportscar

As I said in another thread, more up and coming F3/F3000 drivers should move into sportscar racing as a career, rather than chasing the F1 dream.

These days even if you reach F1, your likely to be out after a season or two, regardless of how good you actually are.

E.g. Wilson being replaced by Klien!!!!!!!

I agree with you JAG, although I doubt there are many drivers which could adapt to the different car so well - some people just can't hack it above F3/F3000

Good luck to Robbie.

I'm sure he can have a solid career in sportscars.

Bloody good pace from Robbie.

If only he hadn't punted that Lister he'd have had a podium.

I hope he's in the car again at Spa.

Lets get this right, the Lister got a warning for turning in on him and ignoring blue flags!

A wonderful job by Robbie Kerr : I was amazed by the first hour, and he was fast at the end too ! Congrats, and hope to see him back in the Zytek.

i thought robbie got black flagged/stop and go
live timing frooze but just before the second pitstop but robbie had 5 sec on caffer. after the driverchange dyson was in p 6(!) and at least 1 one lap down.

There wasn't a stop/go - Robbie came in for an extra stop after the clash with the Lister.

Yes, he had vibrations after the contact - a bent wheel rim!

Peckadj, I don't think you have any appreciation for how good Robbie actually is ... there's being faster and there's being nearly 2 seconds a lap faster.

He was more like 4 seconds/lap better than Dyson when pushing - 2 secs/lap better than the Audi's

not saying he isn't fast but if you for example put herbert in the car it wouldn't be slower, either in qual or race.

according to caffer robbie was very aggressive in traffic, maybe to aggressive

Robbie is a star in any car he drives.
trust me, I've seen most of his drives since 2000 in FPA.
If you think of him racing six times at Brands in 2002 and winning 5 times, twice in a Porsche he hadn't driven before that weekend, putting his FRV6 on pole first time out at Monza this year, winning from 15th on the grid at valencia in a 20 lap race, including taking 2 secs out of Ryan Sharp on the last lap and overtaking on the last corner.

He ought to be in an F1 car!

Kaffer wishes he had the class of Robbie. He raced for FIVE years in German F3 (inferior in talent to British F3) and never managed to win.

Kerr won British Scholarship Class F3 and then Championship Class F3 back to back ... something no-one else has done before.

If Robbie was 'too aggressive' he'd have been penalised (which he wasn't). Sounds like jealousy to me.

I know he had a moment cutting grass - the team removed a hell of a lot on his last stop. Great team by the way, really nice to look after all weekend!

Can't believe how Chris Dyson kept going in his stint. He looked as fresh as a daisy when he got out, too!

Yeah, the grass thing was when the Zytek was forced wide by the MG that didn't realise he was there! It must catch up so quickly I can understand how some drivers don't see it coming!

Robbie Kerr was the star of the weekend, to stay had only tested the car briefly I think he did very very well. Let hope we can get another top line drive soon.

in Racing the fast driver is at fault if close encounters go wrong imo
you just have to judge your passing and lapping of other cars not ignoring what your own machine is capable of taking.
The audis are more forgiving but even them pay the price for letting it slip ,see LeMans ,see nurburgring.
Speed is wonderful and my honest admiration for the speed robbie showed. But one misjudged move cost them dear, and it made them fourth instead of winning that one.Racing is about speed ,consistancy and makingless mistakes than the others.Easily said, sure .But you can´t always blame the others when you are at the wheel presumably under control.
Of course without the speed you will never beat the Audis. But with over two seconds per lap in advantage to the Tanks,he should have
been able to avoid this encounter.
Looking forward to see him putting things right at SPA,he just has to get a second chance, and yes he´s going places,of course!

Not sure if he'll be racing again at Spa - I doubt he wants to be labled as a sportscar driver as he's still aiming for F1
