I'm not saying I disagree, but question if the championship leader has lost his Mojo? The rest of the grid must be diabolically bad if that's the case. Let's be sensible here.

Brilliant opening lap by Jordan.
Surprised we don't have a SC. Austin piled into the side of Sutton. |

Collard overtook Shedden under yellow.
Edit: Switches back. Debris everywhere. |

This race is a mess. James Cole might be driving decently well but Jesus he can't defend. Driving into cars alongside, running one car off the road and giving up spots to another. It's a bit cringy to watch. Also surprised they aren't picking up all the cars littering the circuit. |

I kind of had the same impression... he needs to stop these mistakes if he wants to fight for things.
Race 1 was embarrassing. Contact happens in touring cars, agreed... but that literally was fairground bumper cars. I was marshalling at the classic yesterday and even the races with double the grids (almost) of the BTCC could make it round the tighter corners without too much contact/issue and they're far from Britains "premier drivers"... |

Rob Austin did a brilliant Eugene O'Brien impression today.....
Some good racing amidst the chaos. OK James Cole was a bit robust, but I'd rather that than the feeble defending some other drivers do when Neal and Shedden come calling. |

Remarkably only two penalties after that today...And Rob has been given neither of them. Part of me is starting to think that TOCA are happy for the accidents, as it keeps the armchair semi-fan interested.

Have to admit today after watching the spa 24 hours i felt very turned off the BTCC, driving standards are beginning to border on criminal. No one can pass without contact and some people just smash cars up time and time again without consequence. Not to mention the incessant whining of the Hondas despite actually winning race 3. Having said that Im not sure anyone really cares so long as ITV and the tracks are getting their ambulance chasers through the door.

I feel those complaining about driving standards need to watch races from 05-06 and 10-12, or even this meeting from last season. This season's hardly compare.
Anyway Sutton is the real deal, two great wins and unlucky on first lap of R3, would have probably lead the championship otherwise. He's definitely a title contender, providing him and the Scooby keep this form going, to do it his second season of tin tops would be a first. And Cole looked like a proper BTCC driver today, mixing and passing the best today in R2 and not being intimidated by Neal in R3 and keeping pace throughout the race. Certainly makes up for the bad luck he had in Croft Goff obviously didn't have the race pace after a mega quali, but still a good solid weekend of points throughout. Also well done Brett Smith, after bad luck in the first two races, he got a couple of well deserved points in R3 in his first meeting. One for the future Shame BMW lost two wins through no fault of their own, Colin hitting some dirt in R1 and AJ having that mechanical problem in R3, but that's motor racing for you. Still at least both Rob and Colin had a good solid weekend of points that keep them firmly in the title race. Also what a recovery from Flash after that quali shocker, this kind of weekends decide championships Nice to see Tingram get a solid weekend after the disappointments of Croft and Oulton, despite that coming together with Austin in R1, but TBH it's hard to see him getting back in the title fight now. Good to see Hill up there all weekend and the Audis are getting up there now. The only cars that don't seem to be capable of anything anymore are the two MGs, clearly the car seems past it's sell by date, Cook must be starting to think if he regrets the decision to rejoin them, even out of loyalty Just glad it's all back after that summer break wait |

Plato has less boost. Something I heard (read?) somewhere before but heard David Addison say during race 3 commentary - was he saying Plato had less boost than the other Subarus or that all the Subarus had less boost?
In my head I've assumed that the same cars have the same boost- so no difference between Neal/Shedden, Collard/Turkington/Jordan etc. The Plato new subframe after qualy plays to my relationship is over awaiting the divorce theory. Was Rob Austin ****ed or has he gone blind? Ditto that maniac Cook to a lesser degree. I liked the irony of Lines taking him out... if he hadn't jumped ship he'd have been in the far better Focus rather than being punted by it. Ash Sutton continues to look like the man. Got to be worth a few quid for the title. Why was Matt Neal so down on his chances on the grid fir race one? Didn't look too shabby at all! |

Neal and Tingram are now pretty much out of the title picture , it's Shedden against 3 RWD cars BTW did Hitachi sell more excavators due their sponsorship of WSR ? paste image host |

One who's really been out of luck lately is Morgan, he seems to not be able to get a good result for toffee.
