Traction Control

Wasn't in legalised during 2002 for LMP900/LMGTP and GTS as the ACO could not monitor it effectively and teams admitted they were running with it.

from what I've read the Spyker does have TC, but they only use it when it rains.

Pretty sure it was allowed during 2002 as it was undetectable.

'only when it rains?" yeah right-
Tc is used whereever it can be gotten away with.
LeMans and Enduros are no different
only in Club Races do you see its absense

I think the rule said GT and GTS can use it at all times, P675 P900 GTP cannot run TC at all. I haven't heard the traction control kick in on any P cars at the ALMS races i've been too.

As I said I read LMP900/LMGTP and GTS only. Can't really see it being GTS and GT and not LMP.

Wasn't there an article on the IMSA site or maybe somewhere else talking about Panoz testing TC for the first time, at least officaially sometime last year?

Well, it will be allowed under the 04 rules (or at least this will mean possible implementation of it)

5.4.2 Throttle :
- SR1 : Free
- SR2 : Only a direct mechanical linkage (rod, cable) is permitted between the throttle pedal and the supply
control system (fuel and/or air) of the engine.

But then again...

9.2 - Gearbox
9.2.1 Maximum 6 forward speeds.
9.2.2 Electronic or electric management and selection devices, and semi-automatic or automatic transmissions are
not permitted.
9.2.3 Only for SR1, a single switch may operate several systems (Art. 1.10) including the control of a value but if, for
any reason whatsoever, these systems do not respond to the driver's order or if the value checked is not the
good one, the driver will have to actuate the switch again.

The problem is that there is no specific reference to TC in the 04 rules...
