Didn't Trulli pit - allowing Ralf Schu past?

I don't know...
Lap 52 : Coulthard pits, handing the lead to his teammate, Kimi Raikkonen Lap 54 : But, Fisichella is all over the back of the McLaren and takes the lead! A Jordan leads in Brazil! Lap 54 : Safety car! Huge accident for Mark Webber! Lap 54 : The race has been redflagged! Lap 54 : Fernando Alonso goes off in Webber’s debris Lap 54 : Webber appears to be okay, but Alonso is in pain Lap 54 : The race is over 75% completed….Fisichella wins! What a result!!! In Jordan’s 200th GP the Italian driver takes the win! Jordan must be so relieved as Fisichella’s car is in flames in pit lane! No mention of Trulli pitting in here.. On the BBC's site, the revised result has Trulli 7th, but I thought Ralf Schumacher passed him.

Is this a first in recent times for F1/FIA? Justice being served!
Well done Eddie, Fisi & Ford |

Congrats to Fisicella for a well deserved first ever grand prix win. The circumstances though are unfortunate..its cruel for Raikonnen to have a race he thought he had won be taken away from him...similarly Giancarlo was robbed of a deserving celebration on the podium as well.
The stewards need to get their act together and we shoulsnt see slip ups such as these too often. |

It's the first time ever in F1 history that the result of a race has been changed without a driver receiving a suspension or time penalty.

I definitely think they should re-run the presentation at Imola - primarily for Fisi - who's career deserves it and also for Alonso.

Wasn't it Riccardo Patrese who won in monaco his first GP in 1982, or was it 1983? I thought it was 1982. He had his second win in SAF 1983 or so.

Ron Dennis seems happy enough: "The evidence presented earlier today leaves no doubt that Giancarlo and Jordan are the winners of the Brazilian Grand Prix and I'm pleased that any confusion has now been cleared up. It's obviously a shame that neither driver nor team were able to celebrate in Brazil, but knowing Eddie I would imagine that a few pints of the Irish brew will be raised today."
Thanks Ron! |

FANTASTIC!!!
Long, long overdue win for Fisichella, and to see the Jordan name back on top is marvellous. And that comment from Ron above is very good indeed. Nice to see Ron show some sportsmanship and cop it on the chin. |

I suppose this one all depends on where the official start finish line is compared to the pits and Trulli slowing. Give the FIA another five days and I'm sure it'll become clear Last edited by Adam43; 11 Apr 2003 at 12:51. |

Hold on folks! New evidence suggests that on countback Button won because he was still running two laps after Michael fell off!
*Ahem*. Let's not go down the "did Trulli pit" route eh? |

But if Trulli is ahead of Ralf at the end, then Ralf has less points that Montoya, despite finishing more races

Top result! The FIA have got something right at last.
Well done Fisi and Jordan - proof that there is still room for the privateers in F1. |

Well I hope it holds up. A great moment for Fisi and Eddie. F1 needs to have "underdog days" once and awhile. For Ford? Good for Cosworth, but maybe not for Jaguar. Not just because of what the change did to Webber, but for what it says about the state of affairs in the "factory" team. If Ford's first win in how long(?) comes through Jordan, a new customer, why bother with Jag??

Despite my snipes that it took so long it is good that the result has been decided. Not because Fisi won, but because it is the correct result.
If it had gone the other way, then that would have be good also, because the evidence would have shown that it should have been lap 53. In a case like this, I don't think that there is any grey area to be concerned about. It was a matter of determining when the red was thrown and seeing which lap that was. The rules could then be applied and justice and the best result could be achieved. Anyway. It is great for Fisi, let's hope he can get some more somehow (i.e. in a better team?). And Ron's reaction is great, but not at all surprising (to me anyway). Whether you agree with his view point or not (and I often don't) this shows he only argues the case when he thinks there is cause to. |

Good for Fisi, I've been hoping for him to win for ages. Its too bad he didn't get to savour it at the moment. Let's hope its only the first of many.
