This isn't Area 51 by chance or possibly Roswell? |

im not sure if this has been asked yet but isnt the MES ECU designed to prevent this kind of cheating and if one of the teams happened to find a way to cheat the system then one would think that MES should be out in front leading an investigation since they are supplying this device across a few racing series now?

Yes, but it may be possible to hide code within that ECU ??
I am not saying RedBull are, so leave that one right there please.. If this had been noticed by a member of the public I would not take much notice of it..However Mr Minardi is a very experienced former team owner.. Remember Senna and his feelings concerning TGF's Renault, weather that could happen these days I have no idea to be honest... I doubt Giancarlo Minardi would have said anything though unless he believed something was wrong.. |

It's quite clear to me that the cars aren't spinning their wheels anything like we have seen in the past, but that's probably because everything is so finely tuned in an F1 car these days. It may also be the case that even the MES ECU has provision for some degree of traction control. It certainly has the provision for alternating between wet and dry tyre maps: "5.5.4 The accelerator pedal shaping map in the ECU may only be linked to the type of the tyres fitted to the car : one map for use with dry-weather tyres and one map for use with intermediate or wet-weather tyres." One wonders if the drivers are able to switch between those maps regardless of the tyres fitted to the car? If it's likely that it's not going to rain, what sort of wet weather map is it possible to programme for use with dry tyres? |

That may not be necessary, and I don't think that anyone would dare take the risk of handing back to the FIA, after each event, an ECU with a code that could be discovered, however unlikely that anyone may think that it ever could be.

There's a flamboyant, ultra-theatrical and reckless media atmosphere in Italy and this has been so since year dot. So while we are rightly amazed and scathing about Minardi making accusations equipped only with with circumstantial evidence and insinuation, it's all par for the course in a land that gave us Berlusconi. He's basically reflecting his own media culture in a way that would be unremarkable in Italy but in a way that is shocking to us.

I don't really have an opinion on the matter, but I really like a good fire, so here's some fuel for speculation ...

Honestly, I think this is the worst thread I've ever read on here. I know I'm not exactly making its reputation any better but this is truly dire.
So, have we all agreed that Vettel is a cheat, he can't pass and that we don't like him because he's German? I kind of feel sorry for the thread starter but it was always going to go this way? I'm a Vettel fan (as I was a Schumacher fan) but it is sad to see the sport ripping itself apart over brilliance. I've never really understood this whole 'boring' = 'cheating' thing with Formula One. It is never seen as boring or cheat-worthy when Man Utd dominate the Premier League, when New Zealand dominate international Rugby or even when Valentino Rossi was dominating MotoGP? They are/were just simply better and people can accept that and accept those team's brilliance or an individual's ingenuity. Why can we not do that with Formula One? Was Sebastian Loeb a cheat because his name is Sebastian too? Last edited by beau1; 3 Oct 2013 at 05:43. |

Speculation growing as to the legality of the RB9 it seems. But it apparently has nothing to do with traction control as first reported. Talk from Korea suggests that the RB9 is back to old tricks and has found a way to map a blowing exhaust and diffuser. How is that possible? They must have a very clever software engineer at RBR in that case.
Didn't RBR introduce a new design diffuser for Singapore? I remember it was mentioned in the Sky telecast either during FP1, or FP2 of the Singapore GP. An article from grandprix247.com http://grandprix247.com/2013/10/01/i...ttels-success/ Charlie says Joe Bauer has deemed Vettel's car legal. http://grandprix247.com/2013/10/03/w...rregularities/ |
