He won't "let" Webber win .. I'd like him less if he did anyway.

Grosjean got the jump on Vettel and Webber.

Romain!
Unlucky for Hamilton, Grosjean's stupendous start meant Vettel had nowhere to go. |

That was close; Rosberg so nearly collected Perez on that pit release.

Drive through for Rosberg. A real classic weekend for Mercedes.

This is a great battle for 4th, real glad the TV Director's sticking with this.

Romain has been fantastic, shame he doesn't quite have the car to contend.

Webber just got by - but about 5 laps too late. About 8.5 seconds behind Vettel. |

Congrats to Vettel. RBR clearly had the better tyre strategy than Lotus.

Well Webber backed himself into a corner with his lighter rear wing setting in fairness. That will not have helped his tyres at all, particularly in a race where drivers were being told to hold a two second gap to the car in front, just in case...

Anyhow, making up roughly 20 seconds and passing 2 cars (that have been running at your pace during 25 laps) in the last 28 laps was never going to work either. I'm not saying Red Bull didn't want Webber to win, they wouldn't have minded if he did -- they just wanted Vettel to win more. |

Simon Rennie to Webber on radio: "OK, mate, nice job today, very good job. OK mate, we were pretty marginal on wear, which is why we switched...um, think would've been very tight to do a 2, which is why we switched, sorry mate."
Webber's reply: (No response). Horner to Webber on radio: "That's a very good drive, Mark, that's a very good drive, unfortunately we lost too much time by Grosjean at the end there.., but uh, but uh, it's a really good drive, well done." Webber's reply: (No response). Webber in a post race interview: "After 1st stop I was told it was a two-stop & then in the middle of stint we changed tactic. I asked if it would work, they said yes.” Gary Anderson thinks Red Bull deliberately put Webber on a three-stop to clear the way for Vettel. And Red Bull may have tried to use Webber as a pawn to try and trick Lotus into following Webber's strategy with Grosjean. |

It never ceases to amaze me how people are so willing to see a big conspiracy when it's not really there. Facts are that Webber couldn't manage his tyres, needed to switch to a three stopper, and Seb did an extraordinary job keeping life in his tyres before his final stop. |

Historically, over their time in Red Bull, who has consistently got more life out of their tyres - Mark or Seb?

There was no evidence in Webber's laptimes that his tires were going off. I'm wondering which fact you see for him unable to manage his tires. |

I am NEVER one to subscribe to conspiracy theories, but after watching the way Red Bull engineered Webber out what should have been a race win by putting Vettel on a better strategy I am quite gobsmacked. I was so annoyed by the race end. Couldn't believe they did that. 15 laps to go he held a 15 second lead, and I believe still a good shot at winning the race even though his tyres were much older than Vettel's. Bringing him in was as good as handing it to Vettel on a platter IMO I think when Webber watches the replay of this race and how it unfolded he will be very annoyed.
