Sunday morning Report:
Gear change It’s a hot start to the second day in Austria where the temperature is already in the high 20s, and, obviously, much hotter inside the cars where the drivers are wrapped up in their racesuits. Tracey is the smartest boy in the paddock today with a new suit to match his car. George Tracey’s day has started with a decent run through the warm-up, even though the gear linkage on the Peugeot 307 has broken. “I was enjoying that,” said Tracey. “We were about three-seconds off the pace yesterday but I think we can get about a second of that back.” Tracey also had his first real taste of contact in yesterday’s first heat. “It didn’t help my race but I don’t mind playing rough as long as he [Volvo driver Frode Holte] understands the rules: if he hits me I will hit him back,” said Tracey. Game over
George Tracey''s run in the Austrian ERC round ended with a respectable run in the third heat. Ordinarily Tracey may have been able to expect a reasonably easy run, but as Kenneth Hansen was also enduring a torrid event, the most successful driver in the sport''s history was on the same grid, along with Russian Rustam Minnikhanov in Hansen''s 2006 car. Tracey managed a lap in front of Hansen before the unpredictable handling of the 307 caused him to drop back. [IMG][/IMG] |

Maybe a stupid question, but why are there still a lot of WRC components in the engine? It had quite a lot of preparation time before the season and you would have expected this to be sorted?
