Keep the four classic 1000 km (plus the optional 24h LM) races.
Add 4 sponsor-friendly, i.e. TV-friendly, races to draw in people who are not hardcore fanatics(*).
This would give you with 8 (plus 1) races (one race per month from March to November, if you are concerned about strain on the teams).

TV-friendly means probably a total length of live coverage of three hours meaning a race length of max. 2h30m to 2h45m (to include pre race build up, post race coverage, podium, interviews) for sunday noon/afternoon or saturday evening.

But hardcore fanatics seem to despise shorter formats.

(*) Although, don't forget the 200 miles of Nürnberg at the Norisring in the DRM and Sportscar WC were a jewel in the last heyday-era of sportscar racing.

Assen isn´t very suitable for car races IMO.

And do you really want to have 50 cars, LMP and GT´s mixed up on small and twisty Zandvoort track ?

Why? There is Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring in this area of europe. We need a 1000km race at Dijon-Prenois and a Porsche works entry

Brno, for Central Europe. But I am biased.

Could raise the awareness in these countries that other things than IRL, F1 and motorcycling is happening on race tracks.
The Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary has plenty of drivers, teams and even homegrown cars to offer for prototype/GT scene, also.

I would hope and expect factory Audi and Peugeot participation will bring more publicity and media attention onto the series, not withstanding the manufactuers own promotional efforts, which is one area the LMES lacks compared to the ALMS.

Plus, each year the privateers are becoming more professional and on the lookout for sponsors and partners, now they at last have an established series to get their teeth stuck into.

well, think they have to go the fans. for example germans arent that crazy in racing then for example the dutch people with there "king" jan lammers. he could be teamchief of a gokart team and they would travel to lausitzring or somewhere else.
Last year LMES Nuerburgring Audi gave away thousends of LMES tickets at the DTM round, and there had not been very much people.
and i makes not realy much sense to race somewhere without tv coverage of the hole series in that country (no motors for most germans without cards from others countries like sky, canal+, canaal digital, tps)

When it comes down to it we are what, 7 races into a new championship, with only privateers racing upto this point.

Lots of unfulled potential left.

A Dutch race would be great, and I would think the Italian round has been moved from Monza to Mugello in order to attract a potentially much larger crowd.

But one point of the LMES concept was to have the "big names" (and in case of Istanbul big money) in the schedule. And the 1000k Monza is a classic. But in italy only Ferrari is racing.
And i think that with the names like Spa, Nürburgring, etc. thee schedule looks great - the number of fans isn´t not so important like the history of the other tracks.
The dutch and scandinavian tracks are not suitable for LMPs, on the iberian island sportscar racing has no history. I think a round at Brno would be great or a race in the middle east or asia is an interesting option for 2006.

Portago? Villota?

What's with the LMP project at Epsilon Euskadi?

The new facility in Pinto would make a decent venue, IMHO, and should be able to draw a sufficient crowd due to its vicinity to Madrid, also.

Ok, my mistake. I thought about the classic 1000km endurance races.

The new project at Madrif look very well. In what kind of a package races the spanish GT? LMES night race on Saturday and spanish package on Sunday?

No ones posted it here so I may as well.

Below is a rendering of the proposed Dome LMP1 coupe.

Is RFH running Domes in 2006?

But RfH wants to drive his old Dome with a Hybridkit. He has only one driveable chassis left, the other can only be used for a discothek

It was rumored so far that he want development something new for 2006.

Will he develop his own kit or will he use the hybrid kit which JGR raced this year ?

he and a driver told they want drive a hybrid in 2006 at nuerburgring. why should they develop there own kit? There is a rule in LMP rules that only chassis builder or companies with ACO ok can build hybrid kits (§19 i think) because they dont want to have unsafe cars. same story at PLM where lista horag had to sent there car back, think there are enough carbon fibre companies in the US, but the repair must have been done by Lola itself.

I never had much faith in the rumour that Lammers was intending to build his own car , at least so soon . He has been scrapeing for money for ages , so it wasnt practical imo . But , a Hybrid is good news . I hope he gets that Mugen engine too !!!

That man is still seriously quick . Best of luck to RfH .
Whats the disco comment all about ger80 ?

We asked a RfH driver about the second chassis and he answered that you can only use that chassis for making light on and off in a disco, nothing more.

Does anyone know if Sam Li has any projects in the pipeline? It would be good to see Team Veloqz return to the series.
