Schumacher for Subaru

Have just been watching the ITV coverage of the WRC and it had a small clip of Schumacher in a Subaru WRC. The Subaru guys were trying to block the camera so Schumacher couldnt be seen and when he was leaving TGF was trying to hide his face!!

Could Schumacher be considering a move to the WRC in 2005?? Hakkinen considered it for a time, but it never happened. I know id love to see Schumacher in the WRC post formula one.

Has anyone else heard anything regarding Schumacher in WRC and what are your thoughts on this?

Age isnt a factor for Michael yet though, after all Sains is 41 and going well.

The Times, reported that: "Schumacher hopped out of the car and, according to Solberg, 'jumped up and down like crazy' with joy." reported the other day http://www.f1central.net/news/1074726190.html

If anything I think it will be Karting he really enjoys that so they say.

It was certainly interesting - we see driver exchanges and the like on a regular basis, but these are mainly promotional events with joint sponsors etc., and the hush-hush nature of this rules this out.
I'd certainly agree with Fogelhund that it's likely to be Michael having fun and nothing more, he does like doing extra things - but you can't rule out things in the future if he developed a taste for a different type of action!

I can't see him heading down the rallying route, once he's finished in F1 i think he'll retire from the sport altogether.

Good point ASP. Lets not rule this out though. Valentino Rossi has said that he will move to WRC later on in his career so its not unfeasible for drivers etc to make the switch.

Who would like to see Schumacher in the WRC?? Not only would it be very entertaining, but im sure the profile of WRC would rise as well.

Schuey was likely having fun, but if you want to go down as the best bar none, a rally title would look good on the mantlepiece.

Did you see him leaving in an Audi? This must mean he's in league with Volkswagen - look for MS heading an Audi F1 team in 2007. German team, headed by German driver - ideal I'd say

Ayrton Senna tried out a rakky car back in his Lotus days and nothing really came of that. Admmittedly he was years away from retirement at the time but it is so rre to see drivers switching codes these days. Alesi would be the most notable in recent years and that was still circuit racing.

If he really loves driving why would he quit? For some reason we assume someone wins the WDC and they no longer want to race. If it's not about racing then what is it about?

GM own Subaru, they also own a part of Fiat wich owns Ferrari, it's all so simple when you know the connections(Just like Mika Hakkinen drove a Mitsubitsi in the Finish rally, Mitsubitsi is partly owned by Daimler Chrysler(Mercedes) )
