I forgot to ask, where is the best placed to spectate from and are you allowed to park your car next to the track?

Hi Richie17.
A realy good spot to spectate from is infield up near the walkover bridge, also its good for taking photos of the cars coming round the bend at the top of the crest, also you can see more of the track from up that way, you cant stand on the crossover walkway when racings on though, there is a grand stand down along the main straight but you dont see as much ,but its still good ,and yes you can park your car near the track up top near the walkover bridge(outside of the circuit). Hope this helps.. Thanks 2lt |

Hi all - a small photo gallery from the weekend (well Saturday anyway...)
It was a good weekend for me at least - Morgan Park is a great track...hopefully competitor numbers can climb though... |

Yeah it wasn't big - probably about 25 cars all up I think - going off memory...could have been a few more
The Biddlecombe Saker was there so I was kept happy...but I don't think there were many interstate people... |

Looking at that, there was only a handful of locals in the 25 starters. Will it be on TV? |

I will cede to you on that one - you would know more than me, was talking to one guy who said none of his interstate friends came in...
Had a feeling that it was to be televised but not sure if that ever happened... |

Hi Guys,
Wow, what a great circuit. Really enjoyed the challenging layout, and looking forward to going back later in the year! Yes, it was a fairly intimate meeting, with not as many competitors as we would have liked, but it was a great atmosphere, and hopefully we can retain that vibe, just with much bigger fields at the coming rounds. There are some more photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/irace/s...7615149661145/ Yes, the round will be televised on Fox. Grant Boyden was at the circuit doing interviews throughout Sunday. Richie, I must have missed you - Dad said he met you. Hope to catch up at a future round. |

Congrats to the promoters for getting it off the ground.Even more so for getting off the deck after getting kicked in the teeth . It will take time to build the series and competitors will take time to get confidence in it all. There are cars here that have not been catered for--or at least adequetly- elsewhere and these promoters have the competitors interests at heart.

Look, I really don't want to start a **** fight here and I'm not doing any tooth kicking but who is paying for all this? TV coverage and track hire with 21 entrants, entry fees must be high?
How are they going to telecast a 1 car 'race'? |

I wonder what Morgan Park would be like with big grids. Is overtaking difficult in cars?
I found there weren't many passing places in a sidecar, partly because I was down on power to the people I was dicing with but I can't imagine it would be easy. Jeff |

Where there is a will, there is a way!
It's really all about setting up the pass at the previous corner, get a good run onto the straight and you're a chance at turns one and two. Have a good clean run out of 2 and you're a big chance at 4, ditto 4 for 5. The T-junction is a funny one, because if you can hold it on the outside of Siberia, you've got the inside running up the hill. Inside and outside can work through there! It'll be very interesting when the extensions get put in, because the tighter, but my favourite part, through the flip flop and onto the straight will be replaced with some sweepers. |
