[QUOTE=Uncle Cranker;2987460]Sadly, I was a bit off the mark with my prophesy, I should have channelled some better spirits, clearly this weekend is the:
Build a bridge Nationals...... Can I predict some cases of bridge re-building we may or not see this weekend ? [LIST=1][*]Jason Bright - Dr Carl Le. After recieveing treatment from Dr Le in Tassie, Brighty wasn't able to race. Fast forward to him visiting a decent Doctor, and Hey Presto, He's Fixed, and will have a bit of a steer on Friday. Get over it Dr Carl... But look on the BRIGHT side ..............it is now safe to go to Knox Hospital Emergency with the V8 Supercars on at Sandown |

Im hopeful this will reduce the issue you described above, But i think, we would both be sceptical that it will have done anything |

In the meantime... are both Mr Bright & Mr Davison starting today? Failing an official announcement, I guess we will see at first practice

GTR, i read that article about Will
there was no suggestion that he would be missing the race, merely that he has had an issue all year |

The work done so far seems to not have been successful. What seems to have happened in the meantime to make this scenario better? Where does the duty of care, and indeed the medical clearance of such a pilot actually come in? Other teams are very finicky with their ergonomics in the car, spending times with human movement specialists to place the pedal box at the right height, to have the seat mounted at the right height, at the right angle, to have the optimum seat pour... to have the gear shifter in the right place, with the right amount of force required to upshift and downshift with reduced effort from the pilot. There still seems to be some work to do here... and arguably if a team is putting the pilot, the other pilots, the car, the crowd and anyone else at risk with such an issue... surely its worthy of further discussion, further development, requiring further clearance before being allowed to race? |

It's not THAT unusual to be honest. Eddie Irvine had very similar problems in his Ferrari days and it took them a long time (well over a year) to be confident that they'd got them sorted. Not easy to replicate in testing and as WD's problem seems to show up only after a long run and there are limited test days then they may well be trying to sort this out with one arm effectively tied behind their backs. No doubt they are trying to sort this and no doubt they will have had some experts on the human body involved. In any case, I struggle to see why they'd not put him in the car this weekend due to a problem that he has been dealing with all year. |

You wonder whether FPR have a similar issue with their suits? I wouldn't mind betting it was Mr Skaife at HRT who had these problems, therefore HRT would have sorted it. Hence why mr Davison has only had this problem this year? |

Mr R.Kelly on Pole! Mr Lowndes in 27th! Mr Mostert's time from the Fujitsu session would have put him 9th in the main game, and ahead of Mr Winterbottom Oh, and Mr A.Davison, who is supposedly on the hunt for a new gig in 2012... 28th |

Mr Kelly wins from the front... Mr Lowndes makes more than a few look ordinary by coming from the back to the front.. some muddy cars.. some badly damaged cars... When is the category getting a new wet tyre?? |

One they have seems OK - is more a deep intermediate than a full monsoon type wet through.
Combination of a circuit that is very low grip when wet, heavy, grunty cars on narrow tyres, continually changing conditions and spool diffs is going to mean plenty of slipping and sliding. Don't know that a change in tyre would have made that much difference. Of course, go to a more monsoon type wet to suit a day like today and it'll overheat and die in lighter rain conditions. |

I think it was Roland Dane who said they were only intermediates, but he is wrong they are proper wets but not monsoon tyres. They seem to work fine today. Anyone who was having problems was obviously driving too fast for their ability. They just need to slow down a bit and let the faster drivers past.

So.. why can't there be 2 wet tyres, an 'intermediate' and a 'monsoon'? It still amazes me that there is an issue around these tyres, the issues at Bathurst should have woken someone up. If you go read the press releases from various main game and development series teams, they are complaining about the consistency of the tyres they put on the car. Mr Whincup claims he should have put another set of wets on his car at his fuel stop, and that the car would have been better placed in the end. Woulda coulda shoulda... but there seems an inconsistency in the control rubber that wasnt there in the Bridgestone days.... Mr Tander had it at Phillip Island too... couldnt catch the field in the end as the tyres cried enough.. Mr Dumbrell thinks the Sandown issue is a surface problem Here |
