Rubio should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2016 WTCC Race of Portugal

Preview:
https://www.fiawtcc.com/race-preview...-wtcc-streets/

Track facts:
https://www.fiawtcc.com/event/race-of-portugal-2016/

Looking forward to see the changes to the circuit, it seems that the first very slow chicane was moved to the other side of the roundabout which is good.

We won't see much overtaking, but in any case it will be great to see the cars drive around this awesome circuit.

Enjoyed qualifying. This is a great circuit to watch drivers run on their timed laps.

Congrats to Monteiro. Ok, Lopez made a Mistake but still this result really shows that Honda has indeed made huge progress, considering their 60kg of ballast and yet again the run on pretty equal footing with Citroen on a track that on paper should suit the French cars

Agree. Qualifications are intense because track is like Hill Climb. And races are boring because track is... well like Hill Climb

In the whole of Portugal, THAT is the best track they can come up with????

WTCC sinks to a new low.

In Portimao and Estoril are the races often really good.

GM10 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Portimão and Estoril have few money. Difficult to organise a WTCC round, I think.

Vila Real is a great circuit because it is fast, selective and tricky. But I think that it isn't what the WTCC needs right now: WTCC races are not often enjoyable, a racetrack that penalizes the overtakes is not the right choice, although it's tough indeed.

Just get rid of those two chicanes on the back side of the track and it'll be fine.

Very surprised with the results, this season is indeed much closer. Hey, Citroen hasn't won 4 races in a row, first time this ever happened. Pechito's last podium was 4 races ago as well!

Happy for Tiago. That podium location is great

I admit the races were boring, but yet again it's typical for street circuits - remember, there were almost no overtakes in Pau or Porto. New Marrakech layout doesn't allow them as well. Most of the action comes from incidents which we didn't have this time.

Juntos is a back marker
Get ride of the chicanes and you are halfway thru an average circuit. But first you need to get ride of the FIA minnows.
