Should Rally Turkey be cancelled?
Next up on the schedule is Rally Turkey. There are some concerns about the event, given Turkey is a neighbouring country to Iraq. Do you think that the rally should go ahead or be cancelled?

No i dont think the event should be cancelled as we dont know for sure as there will be a war. I am really looking forward to this event as i dont think there has been a WRC rally in Turkey any way they should go over there and blow him up he has disrupted everything

I recall a support vehicle on the Dakar rally hitting a landmine this year sorry boys but war is coming at the end of this lunar cycle and you prbably don't want to be around any US military bases anytime soon

Max Mosley has said he can't find any reason to call off the rally.
"The place where the rally is being held is a very long way from anywhere, so it is difficult to envisage any scenario which would end up with any sort of action or fighting in the mountains and hills where they are having this event," he said. |

To be honest rally drivers are nutters and a few low flying jets wouldn't bother them that much (tommi would pull a face though) unless bombs are falling on the stages or sevice areas I can see them continuing. In fact I think some of them might get off on it - after all they are nut jobs one and all.

The Rally of Turkey will go on as schedule despite the threat of war in Iraq.

Anatolia is in western Turkey, the border of Iraq in southeast. I think it is safe enough. Next stop Türkiye!
