Must admit i'm surprised by the decision to switch to the Integra. I thought the Civic was a pretty handy car and something to rival the Astra's. The current trend seems to be a large influx of Hatch backs so its nice to see a team moving back to a saloon. Hope they have some sucess with this car.

It's a coop.

The Civic wasn't as good at speed as this car will be. Much more aerodynamically efficient.

Looking very good! That will look very menacing when looking at it from a rear cam shot of the car in front!

I'd prefer them to race the Accord, rather than the integra.

A family car platform is the life-blood of touring cars.

I'm I the only one who thinks this has been beaten with the ugly stick. From the pic in MN today it looks like a Civic that's been run over.

correct but thats not really relevant as the Integra isnt available in the UK, so I suspect TD have bought an old car or lots of old bits from japan

I think it looks pretty awful - bits reminds me of the 406 Coupe and others the Astra Coupe.

Orange doesn't help it either. Change your colours back to blue Halfords!

According to Matt Neal, the problem with the Civic was that its aerodynamics meant that it reached a certain top speed and then hit a virtual brick wall. The Integra is supposed to be much more slippery.

Wouldn't it be easier to purchase/race a Honda Accord? They can share more parts/information with the other S2000 teams? Resale could be easier as well? Is the Integra built to S2000 or BTC rules?

They probably got a good deal on the cars with the importers though. They did look at the Accord, but decided against it. Besides, they're better off keeping the data to themselves.

The Accord is hardly a pace - setter in the ETCC / WTCC yet and it wouldn't fit TD's needs - they are most definitely pushing for the championship nowadays.

in non BTCC guise the Integra doesnt look bad. Just looks odd with those flat sided BTCC panels grafted on along with semi-matt Orange.

Didnt the Halfords deal via a certain team manager? ....so we might be seeing a change of colour yet

As I understand it, Dan Eaves brings Halfords, not the team manager

Because it's been built to BTC rules, not Super 2000.

And even if it was built to Super2000 rules it could be 'locally' homolgated by TOCA for use in the BTCC.

I thought they were all one package...Eaves was vic's driver, and halfords was their sponsor...vic wanted Eaves to drive and Dynamics was the team, kicking out the well liked and talented Gareth Howell.

I think Dynamics want to run him, as they did last year, he was always around the TD garages, but its the funding issue as always.

As for the Halfords deal, surely deals in the BTCC usually go on a year by year basis, a company like halfords wouldn't tie themselves to one person for too long.
