We used the same car park on sunday, it was a massive change from last year in that by 6.15 we were heading away from the circuit rather than spending an hour trying to get out of the car park

What's going on with McNish and Moodey on the WEC stream instead of Hindy and the usuals?

Another cracking weekend of sportscars in the bag. Really enjoyed both races and as usual it's got me right in the mood for Le Mans.

My only regret is being too sunburnt and tired to take in the British GT at Oulton today. Must be getting old!

Deal's over for whatever reason. The WEC decided to go its own way.

I can't imagine McNish's back will be in good condition at the end of the year if he has to carry Moody all the time...

Whattttt. Seems a bit of a strange call on WECs side of things. Oh well, back to syncing RLM and the WEC stream ☹️

Going from his earlier Tweets Hindy suggested it was his decision not to do WEC TV commentary this year. (I think I am right in saying that he did it as a freelancer rather than it being a RLM/Radio Show Limited production).

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend, with an excellent WEC race. Met up with many old friends (sorry to miss the 'meet' in Club - our group decided to camp for the start in the Abbey grandstand for a change...). So lucky with the weather on Sunday after the weather prediction originally said wall to wall rain from 10 am onwards! It turned out to be a decent day and nowhere near as cold as Saturday. Sets me up very nicely indeed for the main event in two months time.....

outnumbered should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I went Sat and Sun... ELMS race not so exciting this year, but the WEC race was great, and it was hard to know where to look in the last 30 minutes! Happy to see Toyota bring this one home. Bad luck on Lamy for being taken out on the pre-penultimate corner

Silverstone is still a mixed bag as a spectator. It's great that they put on all the extra entertainment over at the Wing, although the shuttle buses were clearly lacking any sort of on-site management as on both days they were all pretty much going round together, which made for some very long waits. They still desperately need a tunnel... The grid "buildup" commentary was as utterly dire as last year, just stick Hindy & co on please. More girls on stilts would be fine, however.

Sunday was excellent. Good race and great to see a close one that Toyota came through to win in the end.

I was at the corners where the 911 caught fire, the Toyotas hit the barrier and where the GT Am battle was settled. Albeit 10 minutes or so before each time!

Outnumbered, as you mention it build up commentary not only dire, but had annoying music. Music that had inappropriate language in it too.

Or maybe just have some sort of pedestrian crossing across the track for 5-10 minutes between each track session.

Thought the WEC said this was a family event!? Wish I could have gone. Maybe I'll make it to COTA this year.

thoroughly enjoyed both days - was it just me or were there no working position lights on the P2 cars in the WEC race?

I think you're right the P2 lights weren't working.

It was interesting to see them change. You could see position lights change at specific parts of the track. One was on the exit of Village where I saw these change for the odd overtake and during the pit stops cycling through. The other was the finish line where I saw the GTE Am lights update on the last lap!

Actually they were - but were very dim or the wrong hue or something, but they were actually working.

Re the change in TV commentary team, I am probably getting 5 from adding 2 and 2, but I thought there were several references from Hindy on the radio commentary to the coverage being 'independent', maybe the WEC want TV commentary that is less 'independent', I'd be surprised if they like opinions like Hindy's on the change in LMP2 regs being aired.
