Agreed, but at least you can sit 4 people in a roadgoing Porsche 911

Agree, 911s have been eligible to race as touring cars before as well so definitely closer to a sedan than a Ferrari Challenge car.

Still not all the way there however - not a sedan.

Very very weird to be behind on production. When 888 built CotF, 6 chassis in total, plus parts for lots of other cars, the delays like this did not seem to happen

At least the 888 threesome have enough parts to run right?

As Mr Dane has pointed out, the other Holden runners procrastinated too long. That Erebus was affected by the backlog, is a different discussion altogether

Well the proper thing to do would be to supply their customers first and only look after themselves once their customers were satisfied.

Guess this is the problem of having a team who is right in the thick of championship battle trying to develop a new car at the same time. Was HRT (as in Walkinshaw Racing) responsible for previous homologations or was it handled in house by Holden's now defunct motor sport division?

Spot on, if you want to retain any credibility, then again different story with an absolute monopoly, where else can the customers go ?

Thats how I would have expected it to run too.

Besides, with little idea who was running what, they really needed to be prepared to supply every team with ZB panels (26 sets)

Back in 1985, when Commodores ran in 5.044 and 4.980 litre form at Bathurst, there was a massive hubbub over availability of Getrag gearboxes for private teams. Teams who had apparently paid their deposit, and build/shipping delays had not seen delivery. Except the MHDT, who were supposed to be delivering these gearboxes, seemed to have plenty for their own cars, and for their preferred customers.

It wasn’t until a particularly vocal Speedway man threatened to pull a gearbox out of 05 himself that one was made available to his team.

Weird then, weird now...

What's the point in being the 'works' team, being expected to get the best results, and having the most responsibility hinging on you; if you can't have access to all the good bits which you are responsible for homologating; first and foremost?

Exactly. T8 is doing what everyone would have known they were going to do before being awarded the tender. Whinging after the fact seems petty, stirring up bad press for T8. Not to mention some teams were quite late to jump on the ZB train

All very true, but the fact Erebus (confirmed mid year) are still waiting points to a bigger problem.
