Thundersports should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Arrows A2

According to Allen Browns great website www.oldracingcars.com there were 3 A2 chassis built,

A2-1 is at H-engineering Tunbridge Wells
A2-2 is on a restaurant ceiling in Japan
A2-3 unraced; anyone know where is is?

I expect Allen and Driftwood should be able shed some light on this.
Thanks

As I understand it H-engineering are planning to restore the car as a "runner" rather than a mueseum piece.

I remember reading at one point that Jackie Oliver owned an A2. No idea if it was A2-3, or whether it is still in his posession...

Just for the record there was only 2 chassis built after some investigation.

I think you should explain that comment.

Perhaps you first as I don't have a website claiming there were 3 chassis; do you have any info of A2/3 if it exists?

It was advertised by Arrows in 1983. I knew the man who bought it and owned it for about a decade. After he died in 1992, it was advertised again.

Your turn.

That car was A2-2 that is Japan now there are Arrows papers stating only 2 were built a 3rd was planned but canned when they realised the car didn't work. Autocourse also only states 2 built. The man who owned was a photographer or journo who's name escapes me, he had it in his garage at home from memory it was advertised in the early 90s for 25k as a roller.

I'm sorry but I must disagree. At the time that A2/3 was advertised by Arrows, one A2 was in their collection and another was in Germany. It is true that only two cars were completed in 1979 and that only two cars raced but the third car was evidently completed later and sold as I have described.

I can see that it would be convenient for A2/3 to be called A2/2 so that it can claim some race history but it simply isn't so.

PS I have just pulled up the original advert and it clearly says "one of three built" and "completed as show car". I knew the man who bought it and he knew full well that it had never raced and bought it and sold it on that basis.

Ken Wells springs to mind? It could have been a spare tub?
