Dakar and Rally-Raid discussion...
Hi
I looked far away among the threads of this section and didn't found one talking about rally-raid in general(not only Dakar, then)
So I decided to create it
The coming event in Rally-Raid is Rallye Oilybia du Maroc(Morocco)next week
Many Dakar teams will take part to it(X-Raid Minis, Peugeot, Toyota South Africa,...)and among them the newcomer in this activity: Sébastien Loeb, who will drive a Peugeot 2008 DKR
Daniel Elena will navigate him as codriver
It will be usefull as preparation of the 2016 Dakar
Full entrylist and news and pictures will be on http://rallyemaroc.npo.fr/
PS: note that the talented Young biker girl from Spain Laia Sanz has left Honda(she finished 9th in 2015 Dakar with the team)to drive a factory KTM in Morocco and Dakar 2016

Rally raid doesn't get a lot of coverage really outside of the Dakar. There certainly seems to be a lot of interest in the next Dakar though with some big name drivers coming in. I'll keep an eye on that site for some video clips - got to love rally raid slo-mo shots!

Interesting performance boost for Peugeot but fiability far from perfect.
Not so much time before Dakar.

Broadcast of the RTL7 Dakar PreProloog, the largest one day dakar related event in Europa at the Eurocircuit, Valkenswaar, the Netherlands. In dutch. You'll probably need Hola (set to holland/netherlands) or another anonymizer to watch it.

Is that a rally sprint? Which drivers are attending?

By the way, a new Argentine president took office a month ago. He's Mauricio Macri, former Boca Junior president. He has reduced export tariffs (the Kirchners had done it), dropped exchange controls and made other hardcore policies.
Now the minister of tourism has claimed that they aim to keep the Dakar Rally.

That Loeb fella isn't bad at this rallying lark is he?
I've not seen too much of the coverage of this but it looks like a decent event this year and the top of those standings has got some quality drivers there hasn't it? I'll have to find some more coverage somewhere.
