Alx Danielsson posted on a Swedish board today that his engineer who isn't too keen on flying was going to take the car to Turkey. The problem was that he wasn't allowed in at the border as some papers were missing. He had to go back to England so Alx is without his race engineer this weekend and they were pretty lost during the first session. They managed to find some time during the second practice and ended up 0,4 seconds off the pace (1,9 seconds off the first session).

It's looking a bit tricky, but not hopeless.

He also said that turn 4 was a real neck killer.

According to Renault Sport, there should be live timing from Friday to Sunday on
www.worldseriesbyrenault.com

I just checked, and there seems to be nothing on at the moment though...

Missed the race today, the Renault site said Toccacelo hit trouble on lap eleven whilst he was fourth or fifth, anyone know what happened to him?

A great result for McIntosh managing to somehow battle up to 4th place in race 1 after qualifying just 14th overall. Perhaps he and KTR have found the sweet spot, after all we know that McIntosh is a very quick peddler as he proved in A1 this season.

According to a report that I read on crash.net McIntosh was helped a little by others crashing off ahead of him yes, but when he got up to 5th place behind Toccacelo he eventually got passed by asserting contious pressure and Toccacelo ran wide.

Yes he was lucky to a extent, but then you make your own luck in motorsport, McIntosh did well and kept his car in 1 piece whilst everyone else was crashing off around him and then to get past Toccacelo (a driver who I think many here will agree is a very fast peddler as he has shown in both WSBR and F3000) on race craft alone I think is a good result.

Still, Im sure you are right. McIntosh was plain lucky, just as he was lucky to secure the 4th fastest race lap. Maybe tommorow he will be lucky again.

Curious to see an 'unusual' all-Iberic podium on todays World Series race. It happened many times on the former Euro-Open series, but nowadays is not so common to see.
McIntosh finally scored points - we'll see if it could help him to perform better in further races.

Ha ha, i wondered if anyone would notice, i have to say i can plead complete innocence here, my 14 year old daughter Lesley thought it would be funny to change my signiature without me knowing, bless her, mind you bella, very observant of you, back on topic though, i wonder if Enrico will extend his contract to seasons end after the mistake yesterday, having said that he was in 4th at the time which is higher than the norm for a eurointernational car, hope thay can sort out a deal between them.

Race 2

1. Parente
2. Aleshin
3. Valsecchi

It seems it can be last race for Toccacelo in the series, or so they said in spanish TV. Apparently he's looking for a seat in ChampCar or IRL.

Hmm, maybe Parente isn't a one-trick pony after all... First win outside F3 after a podium in the first race.

Looks like it was a interesting 2nd race, another good result for McIntosh getting another points finish, also nice to see James Rossiter up inside the top 6. Looking forward to seeing the highlights.

i'd like to complain bitterly at the complete lack of decent coverage of this series actually. autosport are patchy, and the renaultsport press releases are dodgy. i know it's gp2's poorer relative, but considering the amount of effort they put in to make the thing appeal to the public you'd think they'd be wanting to do similar with the media.

then again i could just have my head in the sand. anyone spotted a decent race report for any race this season?

I was at the track yesterday and I can say that the races were pretty entertaining. Free entrance to the paddock, walking in the pits, seeing those heritage Renault cars and Kovalainen touring with Renault R26... It was quite good. However the series just doesn't get much of an attention alongside F1 and others.

For you who had the ability to view the race. What happened in the Danielsson vs. Aleshin incident?

Sorry, I've only just worked this one out. The guy in question must be Roly Vincini. As far as I know, it's not just that he isn't too keen on flying; he will not fly. Anywhere. Ace engineer, though.

Alx only refered to him as Roly and I had no idea of his last name.

They did manage to get a damn fast car set up over the phone.

IMO the racing quality was good, when you think the drivers are young. There was quite a lot of passing. The World Series cars was the best, Megane Trophy was a bit more DTM-like and the F-Renault 2.0 race was the most silent among all three.

Indeed it was my first World Series race and I exactly didn't know who was who. So I was mostly into the accidents, passing manouvers and other entertaining stuff.
