Anotehr bad day
Long time hill climb racer and genuine good guy Hans Peter Laber it seems was gravely injured at Verzegnis this weekend in Italy
It's is a supremely difficult course and though I do not know the reasons for the crash, it is yet another fatality in this spectacular sport I have only recently got into. How long it can carry on in Europe I don't know, because it seems its the really quick and experienced guys that are getting hurt. So sorry for this, loved his cars and he will be sadly missed by his racing friends and family. |

Not another one, first Plasa now this and wasn't there someone else a year or two ago? Appears he crashed while returning down the hill after his second run, was not even a timed run, which makes it even worse. Crash barrier appears to have gone clean through the car, very nasty.
I like you only got into this in recent years mainly via you tube and it really is one of the rawest and most spectacular forms of motorsport out there. Very sad news and thoughts should be with his family. Last edited by AndyS; 27 May 2013 at 20:23. |

Yes Andy, Lionel Regal was killed a couple of yeras back, he was perhaps the quickest at the time, up there with Faggioli.
If the incident happened on his way back down the hill then that is very, very strange. As they are usually just cruising down to the paddock. What a horrible thing to happen. |
