f1fan, it's a bit dull. The top part is good but the bottom half is typical US street circuit. And use satellite view

SBF, yours is great

Thanks for the tip, jab. After reviewing the track, I have now realised that I could have cut across East 17th Street, gone down South 7th Avenue, and then turned right onto East 18th Street, feeding onto West 18th Street and back onto South Minnesota Avenue, which would drastically cut the length, but it would run pretty near McKennan Hospital.

very square. With a diagonal. And a chicane.

My tips... Make it shorter, and find more interesting less grid-iron pattern roads, infact, try some different cities, there are some lovely roads in Europe im sure, most American streets are very square.

The map view shows a major hospital complex as well within the circuit, so that would likely make it a non-starter.

Or I could just move it south to Cheesman Park, or Washington Park, or maybe even Cherry Creek State Park? That way, it would be further away from hospitals and housing, so there wouldn't be as many problems. Happy now?

Crozier74, I am impressed! That track looks really nice, but it seems a bit twisty. Then again, not every road is straight! Nice one.

Cheers folks,

I'm new here,

I looked at most of your city circuits and liked a lot of them. I agree with those who found some a bit too square though. Nickyf1 even said American streets are square. Well, I don't know how true that is - I myself am from Europe so I like the more "traditional" European city layouts better - but you can find good venues in American cities too. Take, for example Denver, where formula1fan's last-so-far track is. You only have to go a little N-W to get this track, for example:

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1517826

I dunnow how suitable that neighborhood is for street racing - probably not at all - but at least it's not (too) square. It's 3.8 miles (6 kilometers) long, the longest straight being 0.63 mile (about 1 kilometer).

There is an alternative route, changed in the mid-section for less steering action:

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1517850

It's a bit longer, though, at 4.2 miles (or 6.8 kilometers) but the inside sector is much fater.

Both layouts have straights, hairpin-like corners, fast curves and slower corners and non-linear sections making them a bit less "American"

And, forgot to mention, I think it would work both clockwise and anti. I drew it anti

Sure.

The El Paso and the San Fernando ones look nice indeed.

The others are a bit too boxy for my taste - and they don't seem to embrace the notion of a "good racing line" very much. Most of them are really combinations of longer or shorter straights connected by very slow right angle corners - they are mostly a "pedal to the metal - brake like hell" kinds of track.

One more side note: you still seem to forget to zom out to a total before you make the links. Plus, using the Satellite or Hybrid views instead of the Map view would be a welcome change

Yeah, good points, bio, but I did draw these tracks a few months ago. I'm willing to post the next few tracks in bulk, with about 5 or 6 tracks in each post, to make it quicker for you to see my creations, and so that you could see some of my more recent designs. Is that okay?

Sorry about the zoom level, but I did make these tracks months ago. And I typed the Leeds-Bradford URL in wrong. This should work.
