If I'm raced in circuits from Portugal to Russia and the UK, I would like a 911 or a fat Civic TC1. Not a near-stock Clio RS.

Eurosport should improve the ETCC, not create another category. If they want new rules, fine, but make sure that they fill a grid with decent drivers.

It's not that simple though, they also have to think of improving the package for the spectators in the circuit. As it is the support package is completely hit and miss in each race which is a shame.

great news the rydell come back!! i really would like to see again other great driver like priaulx giovanardi and menu back in wtcc.

finally todt said what i hoped for since it's bornt wtcc! to create a tecnical regulament for the national championship which should be nearly the same to wtcc one.

actually there are too many "touring" championship with the own regulament!

Bad news, I just read that Tom Coronel's car might not be ready in time for round three.
They have three days for building the car up again, putting all the stickers on and then transport it to the track from the workshop in Italy.

Someone posted about the strength of the new TC1 cars and the fact that the boot of the chevy was rubbish because of all the carbon fibre.

This pics show how much METAL is in the rear... and just how big the accident was at Marakesh

It's the whole political Ukraine opera which scares the manufacturers.

Yes, connected with Russia's intervention and EU sanctions, but seriously, I believe that the event will be held, all these talks are empty, no real reason to change the venue, plus the Lada factor is there (very important race for the manufacturer and, to be honest for others too). Though I'd really like to see Monza return

Alfa and Volvo back in WTCC would be great!! Monza have always been good spectacles, even when it was dry. And tracks like Marrakech and Porto never returning would be the best for the WTCC, the races are dull. I would like to have more races in North-America, maybe there will be a few American entries as well. Going back to Brazil would be good too.

With Alfa supplying the safety car it makes sense they will return.

François Ribeiro says that 4-5 manufacturers are looking at the WTCC, and he hasn't know this level of interest since before the financial crash of 2008.

Let's hope that even 1 or 2 of those come to fruition.

WTCC without Macau won't be the same (like F1 without Monaco). The best possible venue for the grand final, just make races a bit later in the evening (or even night ones, though it's expensive, but just imagine how awesome it would have been) and promote it better and you've got a great product.

I highly doubt Alfa joins, no direct opponents racing right now (unless Volvo joins). But maybe they will promote another brand - FIAT itself? Anyway, they definitely have interest, just remember the 2013 pre-seson launch at one of FIAT bases or IVECO sponsorship with official "safety truck"

Whatever the brand it would be great to have them back. I am also expecting Kia to join, it owuld be strange for them to pour so much money in WRC and not leverage the engine in WTCC

Oh really? Could you provide a link to one of those hints? Because as far as I know KIA never hinted on it, it's wishful thinking from forums like this one which keeps them in the picture. Not their own actions.

While that might be the case for the local participation of the UK importer in the BTCC my question regarding WTCC still stands.
