Kia?

A few years ago, there were rumours Kia would be interested in the WTCC. Well, where are they?

Seriously, I doubt we will see Kia in the series.

Hyundai owns them. And with Hyundai's WRC fiasco in mind, well...

Last year I read on wrc.com Hyundai will return to WRC and Kia will do a Dakar project:

Since then I have nothing heard about Kia and their Dakar project. The Dutch Kia importer supports a Dutch rally team:

That Kia Dakar project gets factory backing for 2005 FIRE.

I thought this car is developed by Bob ten Harkel and with some support from Kia Holland.

They most certainly are. Back in Feb 2004 I saw the 'Ice King' Yvan Muller win at The Stade de France. Would be interesting to see him drive it on a tarmac circuit.

I'm not sure but think Kia doesn't have a 2-litre engined Rio so IF there will ever be a WTCC Kia it's more likely Magentis.

Whoa, the Kia Magentis is huge. I would think it's even bigger than the Volvo 850s/Dodge Strati of the '90s ST!!

The Rio seems a bit too small. I think it would make more sense to race something in between to the 2 cars? The Kia Spectra--based on the next generation Lantra/Elantra.
