All 2 doors with four seats, or 2+2. Just like a 911
Yeah more Group A though - I was thinking more like BTCC, V8SC, NZV8, DTM (although some 2 door Opels in there?)

I still reckon a proper Tourer has 4 doors, everything else is a GT...

E36ST should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Didn't the original Supertourers that ran in the BTCC just have two doors (1992 I think). Then from 1993 on they changed to 4 door models.

Technical overview: NGTC

The BTCC has released details of its ‘Next Generation Touring Car’ (NGTC), to be introduced from 2011. The introduction of these new technical regulations are designed to fulfil the following criteria:

Brief Specifications:
• 2, 3, 4 or 5 door – providing they share the same basic silhouette and dimensions as the 4/5 door saloon version

All right then, I guess the rules seem to change depending on who is writing them!

It used to be designated by a specific set of measurements of the cabin to determine the difference between a 2+2 (GT) & a genuine 4 seater Touring car. In theory it was a good concept but judging by some of the cars that got through (Owen Evans Porsche in NZ series or starters) it was obviously a generous set of measurements or there were one or two 'blind' people at scrutineering from time to time :-)

I for one am really looking forward to this series. Cant wait for the test day on the 10th (although SC have on numerous articles claimed it was the 12th).

It will be good to see the bulk of the cars out on track. Really exciting time for New Zealand Motorsport.

Man what an epic day down at HD today

16 cars all looking and sounding really quite fantastic.

Also a very positive buzz around pit-lane that finally NZ V8 Motorsport is heading somehwere fresh and exciting.

Hats off to Petch and Co for doing what a lot of people didn't think was possible....it was a bold move and one that i think is going to pay off. Thank you for breathing some new life into the sport

Apparently the pre-sales for next weekend are off the hook!

Also heard (may not be true) that John McIntyre has now beaten the record set by murph two weeks ago. If this was the case he must have done that in the first session as the temp really started to crank up in the arvo.
