Haven't see a thread yet so thought i'd pitch in!

runshaw should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I haven't heard much but Oli Webb says on his website he will be in the 2009 championship with Fortec again after a strong end to last year. And James Calado I think will again race in the series next year with Fortec, probably as one of the favourites having won the UK FR winter cup and the Portugese winter series. He is backed by the RSF, and Wayne Boyd was recently picked up to drive a second Fortec run RSF car in the winter series but decided to call it quits after 2 races at Croft. So Dino Zamparelli took over the RSF backed car in Portugal, although i'm not sure if he is confirmed as an RSF driver for 2009 in FR.

The other favourite will be Dean Stoneman who won 3 times last year en route to the Graduate Cup title and was a nominee for the Young Driver award. He will be with Alpine Motorsport. Not heard much about anyone else.

Hillspeed will run Menasheh Idafar and Michael Lyons. They also plan to run a third car.

Alice Powell will race for Manor Competition.

Lee Dwyer will step up from BARC with SSS Motorsport.

Fredrik Blomstedt will probably be back according to his website.

Some other confirmed drivers -

CRS Racing (formerly CR Scuderia):
Matias Laine
Josh Scott
Harry Tincknell
Lewis Williamson
(The team will also be sharing data with Hitech Junior)

Hitech Junior:
Marlon Stockinger
Nick Yelloly
Tamas Pal Kiss
Craig Reiff? - has been testing

Will Stevens has apparently signed for Fortec alongside Calado.

I think RSF decided not to back Zamparelli, and he's doing FR BARC with Reon Motorsport.

motorsport.com is good for press releases while the official site seems to think a redesign is more important than making actual news available...

Well then, Calado's obviously good as is Stoneman and I suspect Stevens will be a force as well?

Could be another strong season, even if grid sizes aren't huge?

Are Eurotek running anyone other than Jordan now that Oliver is doing F3 with Carling and the team are back consentrating on Formula Renault? Could be a good seat there to have as cars are always quick.

Fortec will be running Calado, Webb, Stevens and Blomquist.

All have signed and were testing on Friday at Silverstone.

Is Ryan Singleton any relationship to Richard Singleton? Chunterer- I think Stevens will be strong, he has had good results already this winter. I also think Lewis Williamson will be very strong, he got 2 podiums in the UK winter series straight away and 1 podium in the Portugese series after stepping up from karts.

Smith was fastest. Unfortunately he doesn't appear to have the budget for F3, despite being bang on the pace in the final round of British F3 last year on his debut. Shame really because he has already proved a quality driver for the last few years. So it looks likely he will do FR with Manor (this isn't confirmed yet). If he does, he would be the favourite surely. He wants to go to the F3 Euroseries in 2010 and contest next year's Macau GP with Manor, if he wins the FR title should he decide to do it.

Seem a shame if Dean did this series after finishing 2nd in 2007 - still, he needs to dominate it if he does race in 09...

Yeah, I know. Money, money, money etc.

The guy's too good to do this again (I hope he still gets a late deal further up the ladder somewhere) but seeing as he's accepted as a very talented young driver, that will give the new guys a real yardstick.

They have been testing a lot and i did read somehwere that they are doing it again. Few more driver have been testing e.g Adam Butler for tempus cant remember the names of the others. Jesse Krohn is also back in the car, looks like he might be doing it as well.

Pity Eurotek don't have a second driver out. Saw them out at Brands couple of weeks ago and Oli was driving. Both were fast.
