Bolt on quick release steering boss

Hello all,

I wonder if anybody knows where I can find a quick release steering boss who's installation does not require welding a piece to the top of the steering column? I'm not referring to the rally car type (below) which attaches via 3 or 6 bolts to a hub on the top of the steering column -

I'm looking for one which uses the standard road car steering column splines and nut to hold on the bottom half, and has a push/pull collar release.

I have seen these on cars but I can't seem to find them anywhere on the net or in catalogues. The reason I'm looking out for this type is that I'm using an electric power steering system which I'd like to be able to rebuild if needed. If I weld to the steering column I won't be able to rebuild it.

Thanks in advance

That's where one can get them in Australia. Its a quick release hub, but I don't know if it satisfies your local motorsports body safety requirements. We get away with them here in Club and there have been no reports of part or material failures thus far.
