Calling all Ozzie wannabe F1 stars.....

From the BBC website:

Sporting authorities in Australia are beginning a hunt for a new Formula One star to end the country's 22-year run of failure in the sport.

The internationally-acclaimed Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) is working with the Confederation of Australian Motorsport in a bid to find and train potential star drivers.

Australian Jack Brabham was a three-time winner in the 1950s and 1960s but the country's last winner was Alan Jones in 1980.

There was not even an Australian driver in Formula One for eight years until Mark Webber began driving for Minardi at the start of this season.

============================

If they want to "find and train potential star drivers" does that mean they will pay for everything?? OOOOOH

Unless they are willing to pay the money to get them over to Europe, the plan will be useless.

We've already lost some potential F1 drivers who have had to come back to race in Oz, Lowdnes, Bright, Ambrose, Ingall and so on.
