Frank doesn't stick out in my mind as one of the characters that were champs, I remember a discussion a while back where someone suggested it's just the nature of the German's.

I supported him and found him to be a well mannered, friendly and polite gentleman. As well as a good hard racer.

Did the O'Dor incident have anything to do with his (lack of??) support?

As far as I'm aware, wasn't Biela unsighted by another car before hitting O'Dor's car and as such there was nothing he could do about it. I certainly can't imagine it would influence the level of support he gained in the BTCC.

If Cleland means as in team mates, i thought Bintecliffe did a good job, considering it was only his 1st & 2nd year in Touring Cars.

Racing sportscars for Audi- with huge success....

OK, he may not be one of the obvious crowd-pleasing characters, but as a driver he's a class act

He did always have the 4WD in the BTCC... would have been interesting to see how he could've done in say a FWD Volvo or Renault...

Biela is one of the top drivers for the Joest Audi Team. Laurent Aiello was another former BTCC Touring Car driver who was with the Joest team. He is now leading the points in the German Touring Car Masters in the Abt Motorsport Audi TT.

alesi95, don't you watch the American Le Mans Series? Or don't you get it where you live? Is ALMS very popular in Europe or not? Cause i know it's very popular here in North America...anyway, yah, Biela is now racing in the Joest works Audi R8 in ALMS with Emmanuele Pirro, Rinaldo Capello as well as Tom Kristensen. Johnny Herbert is also teamed up to do the "big" races with that team like Sebring, LeMans, Petit LeMans, etc.

I supported him. I think it's a mistake to say he lacked character. He was just normal when compared to some of the others that, shall we say, had too much character.

I'll look forward to seeing him at Le Mans.
