ToCA Race driver: The end?

Is it the end of the ToCA Race Driver Series? There has been three games so far and the original ToCA Series ended after 3 games, what do you think? If they stop it, then I would like to see codemasters make a different kid of touring car game, mabey with more supertourers.

i hope it is the end, 'cos it's rubbish! I've never seen such pathetic attempts at making a racing game, esp when you can drive almost flat out thru all of Donington! Give me rfactor or GTR2 anyday

I hope that they keep on making stuff with the V8 supercar/DTM/Indy licences BUT someone else picks up the BTCC licence. AFAIK they are just sitting on the licence. But just make sure Simbin stay clear of the BTCC licence!

I would like a return to a focused game. The Race Driver series is an admirable effort in terms of diversity, but spreads itself too thin.

Just return to basics, Codies haven't made a top game since ToCA World Touring Cars. The first three games were great and I still enjoy them today. The Race Driver Series, meanwhile, sits in the shed.

A World Touring Car Game would be cool, with BTCC, French, Ausie V8 and DTM series as well. Even better if they throw in some one off races at popular tracks like Laguna Seca, Dubai and the Norschliefe.

Just touring cars will do. Focus on tin tops and you will have a better game. Start to diversify with single seaters and suchlike and it goes belly up.

If no more TRD games are made, I can't say I would be disappointed. The 3rd in the series is just as annoying as the ones before, the handling of thew cars is very peculiar, just like the 2nd game but not quite as random.

They should focus on one style of raicng, not every style. If they focused on one, they would have a better end product.

I've often had a thought this season that a ToCA Tour game would be cool. Not like TRD, but the actual tour, so the BTCC, Clio's, FBMW, and Occasionally the Historics and whatnot, no stupid stuff, like monster trucks.

They never beat TOCA 2, that was the peak. They have tried to get too much into one game, i see the idea to appeal to as many people as possible but if i want to race touring cars i dont want to have to race trucks, ice racing, rally before i get to the series i want.

While not as realistic and advanced as GTR2/rFactor, it's still good. Turning on Prosim (the simulation mode...) really helps, I don't touch sim (arcade...) mode at all.

I would love to see a realistic (ish, perhaps slightly easier than in RL) game where you have to build a career in racing. For example you strat at 9 in karts and work your way up through the series, either going down the F1 route through FR/F3/WSR/GP2 etc or towards Touring Cars, or any other way a young racing drivers career could go.

I didn't mind TRD3...But I wouldn't Mind A Few More Famous Cars Apart From The Lotus and Williams cars...Like the McLarens of the late 1990s or 1980s? Or Perhaps Some Ferraris...

Licencing for Ferrari costs 2 arms, 2 legs and a kidney.

I'd just like to see one thing - a proper A1GP sim.

Can't see that happening for a while yet- The sport isn't popular enough to warrant a game yet IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if it materialised as a mod for Rfactor or something. Without doing any googling it wouldn't surprise me if one was already in progess.
