Jack Paterson

Hello everyone! I'm trying to find information on Jack Paterson, 1960's and 70's racer. He built a Sports 2000 special, adapted from a Royale RP4, and ran in the first season of S2000 in 1977.

Regards,

Chris.

Chris, I think the car was actually entered as a "Royale S2000".

Correct. However, it had to be based on something, so RP4/6/10/17 are the only choices. The evidence suggests RP4, as there were many more of them, and all were completely redundant following the demise of F100. Most Rp6's left the country (mine went to Holland) and the 11 and 17 are very rare and would not warrant conversion to S2000. I'm just trying to find somewhere to play with the RP6. The S2000 Historic series is the most cost-effective solution. At some point down the line, I can re-work the car into a Masters/Orwell/Prototype, finances permitting. In the meantime, information on Jack Paterson's car will assist me in my quest!

RP4 I'm fairly sure Chris. Have you read the Royale book?

Of course! Those are my legs and umbrella on P163.

Meanwhile, back with Jack Paterson! Somebody must have snapped a couple of pics during that 1977 season? His history previous to Sports 2000 was interesting. He ran a highly modded Lotus 23, with a Martin V8 in the back during the 1960's, with considerable success.

All information gratefully received......

Chris, from memory Peter Slade was also entered in 77 S2000 with a Royale of some description, I presume another RP4 - or was it the same car?
