Austrian Grand Prix - Predictions Contest 2023 - Round 10 of 23 - Results

Congrats to Notso Swift on a first win of the season and on becoming the seventh different winner so far, making up for the pain of scoring an equal number of points to the two winners in Canada.

Also showing what a competitive season it is are the number of place switch-arounds we've seen in the championship, although you need to bear in mind some people missed this round and you will drop scores (particularly with Sprints), so keep an eye out for that and the other on the rules. Nonetheless, it's unlikely Notso Swift will be dropping today's score.

What happened in Austria

Apart from Verstappen picked as the Grand Prix winner by 10 of the 12 entrants (83%), Pérez, Gasly and Stroll were the top most accurately predicted drivers in their correct finishing position, with 2 picks apiece. In total, there were only 18 correct picks in the correct position (15% in total), with most of those obviously coming for Verstappen.

Ocon was the most erroneously predicted top ten finisher (chosen by 67%), while Norris was the most missed (predicted by just 17%).

Gnussi, steve_r, Notso Swift and Aysedasi all predicted the most top ten finishers (9/10).

Teretonga and I predicted the fewest (7/10).

Verstappen was predicted on Grand Prix pole by everyone, but there were only four other correct predictions for qualifying (two coming from Teretonga, who took a clean sweep, with Verstappen, Leclerc and Sainz).

Teretonga and TCT were the only ones to get Team of the Grand Prix (17% of predictors in total).

No-one got Driver of the Day nor Driver of the Grand Prix for Norris.

83% got the Rate the Grand Prix score of 6 or 7.

33% correctly predicted 18-19 finishers.

Everyone but me got there would be 2 pit stops per driver on average!
