903cc should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Am I crazy

Just put a deposit on a Rover 75 2 litre. 2001 model. Never thought I would ever buy a Rover but doing the Math here in Singapore I can scrap the car in 2 years and it will cost me not that much to own it.

It has done 50000 Kms. Looks totally brand new

Any one ever have one? Any problems.

Now where is my Flat cap

Very nice car. If you want some owners' opinions and things to watch out for, I recommend www.mg-rover.org

No, you're not crazy. My old man had one back in Dec 2001, it was a Rover 75 Club Tourer though with a 2L BMW built common-rail Turbo Diesel engine, in Royal Blue, with autobox. Overall a very well built car and had firm, supportive seats (yes even for fabric). Had self-adjusting suspension too which was quite cool! He kept it for a year from new and had no problem except the front tyres needed replacing just after 10,000 miles - but then again it could due to my dad's heavy right foot.

I love the Rover 75! Very classy - pinnacle of Retro-brit design.

Well All is in order now to go pick her up (well almost bloody bank in Denmark where I used to live needs to wire me my money). She passed the inspection without a comment so that is at least positive.

The wife loves it. Thinks it is pretty funky. It is a classic silver colour.

Yeah Rover 75 not a bad chariot though I think it's trying to be a Jag S type. I bought a little 216 injection pocket rocket a year or so back and had the p**s ripped out of me by my son a Honda technician. He comes off the life support machine next week god willing.

A word to the wise tho I've had a few of these in the workshop with a broken PAS belt which has invariably fouled the alternator drive belt and caused it to part company with it's pulley so might be a plan to stick a new belt on the power steering pump to avoid driving round like Marcus (I'm fed up with this car) Gronholm.

Time for an Update on the Rover. I have had her about 6 weeks or so. Had to replace the starter motor when one day she would only go Click.

Drove up to Kuala Lumpur last weekend and ever since then she has been wanting to go better. Being a 2 litre it is underpowered but fine for Singapore. It really needed the tune up. Would post a photo if I could work out how to shrink it to fit.

all up 2000kms and it is very comfortable. But no sports car. a gentlemens carriage is my summation.
