The New Seat Leon to the BTCC?

The new WTCC spec Seat Leon was on display in the Knockhill paddock this weekend:- http://www.rdj-pics.co.uk/Photos/200...s/Knock019.jpg and I heard Jason Plato say over the PA that they are trying to get the car out in the BTCC before the end of the year, and if it does happen then it will be at Brands, does this mean that they are staying in the BTCC in 2006?

He said on Saturday he'd like to drive it before the end of the season - are they definetley going to try it in the BTCC?

I just assumed it meant some more WTCC outings for Plato.

Tim Harvey and Ben Edwards was talking about it on the Motors TV coverage. It seems that it will be the car SEAT will use in 2006 providing they stick around in the championship.

Tim's verdict is that due to it's shorter wheelbase and aerodynamic profile it'd suit the tighter UK circcuits better than the WTCC tracks.

Correct.

It was in BTCC colours.

Very good looking car.

When I saw it at about 0815 lots of mechanics were admiring it.

I was saddened by the look of it actually - yet another Max Power car. The Toledo is a bit bulky but at least it's a proper car shape.

That's the old Toledo though, no use promoting it anymore is there?

Was the car confirmed to be a real S2000 one and not a lookalike/promo car?

I heard JP on TTT last night, but I had a good look at the car on Saturday morning and it looked real to me.

It was probably a 'real car' in terms of it has a rollcage etc, but I would hazard a guess the engine is not present along with some other drivetrain parts.
