MaxxUK should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Brief Glimpse of the Aussie V8s in action at Yas Marina

.. and I do mean brief. I just grabbed some quick footage from the test session this evening from our support pitwall.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qdUzhjVWE8

Also, for those who laughed at the V8 Supercar Middle-East drivers videos then this will REALLY make you laugh, a short compilation of spins, skids, shortcuts, smashes and crashes from the last Yas Marina race.

Thankfully, no wind today and the super dooper hoovers has been out in forces so no sand on the circuit.

Thanks for that MaxxUK. Just reminded me how massive that track is. Is it your first time at a V8 event?

What car are you running in the supports?

Fabrizio Giovanardi: I have like a banana - is the yellow car in front - that make me, you know, running like the monkey, running for the banana. When I see yellow in front, I just pushing harder and harder. I want that banana.

Thanks Maxx

The first car looks and sounds like Ricciardello and has the distinctive Kelly/Perkins motorcycle note.

However, the last car is a HRT mobile I think. It sure sounds different to 2009.....

I was curious too RotorFan:V8 Supercars ME

http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120920

I'm looking after (coaching) 3 drivers in the V8 Supercars ME, these guys race out here all the time but not in Europe/UK and they all said how nice you guys were and they appreciated you coming up for a chat and showing an interest.

In particular my young driver Raed Raffi who was in the orane and white MEEZER car that sadlt retired from EVERY session with gearbox problems. A really bad day for the lad but thats racing I guess. It comes after 2 dominant wins and he was lying 2nd in the Championship. Sadly these 2 DNFs have effectively put him out of it now

Just in case you're interested, here is what the track looks like from inside one of those V8 beasts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfiDboTXZiQ

There is also a compilation from the very first race at the Yas Marina circuit which again was the V8 Supercars ME. The video includes onboards from various drivers and external footage, all to the sounds of Areosmith who played live after the event.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIBhZYtNZC8

If you enjoy watching the video to help the lad get a bit more exposure, please consider adding it as a favorite or giving it a rating, it all helps him.

Mixed day for my guys this weekend.

Raed had overheating problems in race one and had to short shift and be real easy on the car to get it home, finished 4th.

2nd race he got hit going into Turn 2 and ended up backwards in the wall, he tried to carry on but loose bodywork meant he got called in to remove it, he went out and set the 2nd fastest lap but had to retire before the end.

Anyone see the incident?

Abdulaziz finished 2nd in Race 1 and in Race 2 although only (in race 2) to Micheal Patrizi, one of the Aussie V8 Supercar drivers who I must say showed how it should be done although surprising how close some of the Middle-East guys were to his pace.

My SC06 guy, Husam Al-Saleh got 3rd in both races so cause for celebration there after technical problems (broken diff pump) put him way back in quali.

Sorry I didnt get any more footage for you guys, I wasnt too well on Friday and terrible today, bad head cold in 30deg is not fun and had to run around all day.
