Sure the team could use Larry as a figurehead as others have done in the past, but I think Larry's too straight up and down to play these games.
Absolutely, Larry was over all the political stuff with the board and rules and I think Castrol leaving was the last straw, leading him to want to get out. TKR probably came at just the right time for Larry and his staff or we might have seen SGR type scenario all over again.

Everything is moving to Braeside, by 2011. Kelly Racing continue to expand. Nothing left at Moorabbin, here.

Kelly Racing to expand

Funny that the 888 shed is reported to be ~2,000m2, and this one will end up at ~4,000m2

888 are only fielding 2 cars and the engines are I believe prepared off site.

Isn't it interesting that given all the talk the last few years of 4-car teams being the must have thing, that the most successful V8 team in recent times only ever ran 2 cars...

The 4 car thing I think was more about economy of scale.

when 888 started you were only allowed to have the equivalent test days for 2 cars, regardless of how many cars you ran. Last year when KR/JDR started up, they could run 4 cars and chose to do so for economies of scale, probably more for the start up costs, which 888 do not have to go through...

Rick Kelly was on V8xtra today and stated the team was now doing everything in house. When asked if Larry’s involvement with the team had ceased he stated that they were expanding Braeside but some work was still being done at Moorabbin – ie Perkins Engineering. If that is the case sounds like every thing isn’t done in house.
